Queen of Night
Actually I wanted to insert a new Appearance including Reskin but unfortunately the head looks just as if you had not changed from it (see picture). What am I doing wrong? Help would be nice. http://www.bilderhoster.net/img.php?id=hcmj8tl2.jpg
newbiemodder
Did you put the new texture in overide? What are you calling your new texture for the head? And what kind of 2da changes did you make for heads and appearance?
Queen of Night
1. Yes my new Texture is in the Override. 2. The Name of Head is twilek_f09 3. Name of Apperance: P_FEM_T_SML01 Name of Head: twilek_f09 I tried it came up with another name but it was always the same result. I have looked at other mods and since that had been made as well as I have written here only for me is just not accept new texture.
newbiemodder
Have you done this. Gone into Heads.2da and created a new line# for your new twilek female head. If not, copy an existing female head line (#61 for example) and create a new line number. Make note of your new line number - that is the number that appears in the head column in the appearance.2da. Put your new texture, twilek_09 in the alttexture column. Then go to appearance 2da and find the line of the female twilek copy it and create a new line on the appearance.2da. Replace the existing head number with your new head # from the heads.2da. Or if you just want to override an existing twilek texture put your new head number in the existing twilek appearance. Or if you just want to override an existing twilek texture put your new head number in the existing twilek appearance. Your last tip has rather helped, but now run as some Twi-leks around with their color but that's OK. Thanks again for your help.
Queen of Night
As the title says I have a question about this tutorial: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=149992 In addition, I noticed this sentence: Special Note: You might have noticed I didn't cover texture editing here for your new head. Your absolutley right that is completly and utterly up to you as the maker of this mod from here on. and now I want to know how exactly is a totally new head with all that is included (eg a new Twi-Lek head) and run without the twins with the same head through the area makes. Example from Kotorfiles is this: http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Meet_Athena_Selectable_Female_PC;85655 or this: http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Blue_Twilek_as_PC;89752 It would be nice if someone could explain it (maybe one of those who have already done something like that and would like to share the knowledge (laughs)). Thank you then to read the questions and answers of this post. Thank you once had it in advance.
redrob41
This is for KotOR 1 or TSL? I see that you are calling the texture twilek_f09.tga, but what is the name of your head's mdl and mdx files? Could you post a screen shot of your heads.2da and appearance.2da and portraits.2da please? (just the new modified lines for this Twi'lek shoud be enough). with a little more information, this should be easy to figure out
Queen of Night
I looked at some other mods and tried to imitate but the result was the same with the heads already thank you once again that you are willing to help me. Currently, the head should be for Kotor1 (if the path is the same for TSL then reaches only a statement). The mdx and mdl hot twilek_f09. Please find attached the pictures of the Potraits 2da, Heads 2da and Appearance 2da. http://img685.imageshack.us/i/apperancebeispiel.jpg/ http://img130.imageshack.us/i/headbeispiel.jpg/ http://img193.imageshack.us/i/potraitbeispiel.jpg/
redrob41
Please find attached the pictures of the Potraits 2da, Heads 2da and Appearance 2da. http://img685.imageshack.us/i/apperancebeispiel.jpg/ http://img130.imageshack.us/i/headbeispiel.jpg/ http://img193.imageshack.us/i/potraitbeispiel.jpg/ unfortunately the heads.2da is coming up with an error - bad gateway. But, I can see the other two, and there doesn't seem to be much wrong with them (aside from having three lines numbered as 509, but I don't think that's the problem). When adding heads for K1, they always need thier own models (which you have as twilek_f09.mdl & mdx). I've always needed to hex edit the mdl so that they reference the new texture. If they aren't hex edited, then the first light side texture will always be the default from the original model (in this case, twilek F02, right?), and all the new dark side textures would work correctly. So, if you haven't done it already, I think you need to get a hex editor program (there are lots to choose from on the net). Whichever one you get, you'll have to figure out how it finds and replaces strings. Then, replace all instances of "twilek_f02" with "twilek_f09". for more hex editing tips, look on this thread http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=143421 specifically 2.2) Retexturing. I know it is hard to search for some things with less than four letters (like the word hex), but here is another thread http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=134390
Queen of Night
The hex editor I had ever used, and the game crashed. I do not understand why even though I had all last twilek_f02 in twilek_f09. I'll try again but do not believe that it now will be different. Edit: It worked, and of course I tried it again at another head and it works. Now I must only understand the patcher and then the case is scratched. Or can I explain this in a short? (wink, laugh) Thank you for the help.

I was a little worried about the translation, but I'm glad that you got it working. I'll keep an eye open for the released mod.
