darthfergie
Gungan Fambaa Shield Generator: this enormously powerful unit is able to generate a full shield that can be moved with your army. The fambaa moves very slowly but you can create a slow moving wave of death. See above for more information on how shields work. Wookie Beserk:When Wookies get mad, you are best off running. Running *very* fast. This unit is a strong, fast moving infantry unit that uses a melee attack. Not only do they have large hitpoints - they are self regenerating making them a powerful foe. Trade Federation Destroyer Droid:You saw them in the movie, now use them in the game. These neat little mech troopers roll out into combat and pack quite a wollop. Empire Dark Trooper:The dark trooper is something in between a mech and a trooper. They are powerful in combat and inexpensive to produce. Rebel Airspeeder:The Airspeeder works like an airial destroyer mech (anti-mech unit). While this may appear subtle, you have to realize that fighters are in general fairly weak against mechs. The Airspeeder is a notable difference. Royal Naboo Knights:Unfortunatly, this unit was not fully in the version we played. They are setup to be a strong melee unit that is resistant to conversion. Considering the power of the Jedi in this game, that could be a very valuable unit. Paragon_Leon
hey darthfergie, thanks for posting that... very valuable info.. The Naboo Royal Knight sounds like a little lame unit.. Gungan Fambaa Shield Generators kick ass, since they really add more depth to the game. Having a moving shield allows for a completely different playstyle, which makes the gungans more appealing. Dark Troopers probably will work like any other infantry unit, just with more power, and the same goes for the TF Destroyer droid. Airspeeder and Wookiee bererk i already discussed in other threads.. darthfergie
the thing about the Fambaa though is that units develop a shield over a period of time. Kind of like charging a shield up.
Guest Telephius
Naboo sounds good for tactics but it seems bland.
darthfergie
Also I forgot to mention earlier but technically the Gungans have TWO unique units. They have the Sub and the Fambaa. So Lucasarts is really tring to spice up the Gungans (since Jar Jar kind of made them look a bit wierd)
Guest Tie Guy
They also have underwater houses, which are much easier to manage and place, since the enemy can't reach them normally.
darthfergie
Naboo has (possibly) an economy bonus + Trade Fed. has no houses/ reduced wood gathering.
Guest Tie Guy
Yes, those two are correct, and i hope that the others have something good as well. The wookies could have a troop bonus. The Empire could have a loyalty bonus (can't be converted as easily) The Rebellion could have a....something.
darthfergie
Troops Mechs Sea Air Jedi Rebel Alliance 2 5 4 1 3 Galactic Empire 2 1 5 4 3 Trade Federation 3 1 2 5 4 Royal Naboo 4 5 2 1 3 Gungan 3 2 1 4 5 Wookie 1 3 4 2 5 (1= very good , 5 = not so good) The wookies do have a troop bonus. And The Rebels are just your all around guys. (Info from http://www.mrfixitonline.com/readPosting.asp?PostingId=485937 )
darthfergie
well that didn't work out as I planed. I hope you can decipher it. If not just go to the site I mentioned.
Lord JayVizIon
don't worry darth, that same info you posted was something i did a few days ago, and it turned out the same. we talked about that in another thread, so i think people here are familiar now with the info.....thanks anyway
darthfergie
I was just responding to the wookie thing.
Guest Tie Guy
That's not what i meant. I as talking about the team bonus that every civ had in AOK. Like Infantry 10, 15, 20, then 25% faster, or stronger, or more HP. You know, if you've played AOK. I wonder what those bonuses will be.
darthfergie
Yes I know. I am not sure they will incorparate those in all Civs, but it would be nice. They may think that techs are enough.
Guest Kuma
The Shield Generator seems Very (too) strong to me. I hope that there is a counter-unit a kind of saboteur.
Paragon_Leon
Shields may be strong, but if you watched TPM, you'd notice the battle droids simply stepping through it. That's probably what you need to do. Blaster shots will be deflected, but if you simply put a number of units inside that shield. you can destroy the generator or Fambaa from the inside. Kobi Duran
I dont fully understand what economic bonus means. Do the gather resources faster or what. I probably dont know because I didn't play Age of Empires that much. I only was borrowing it from my friends all the time.
darthfergie
No one has really said specificly what the bonus would do. but I assume you either don't pay as much or gather resources better.

I believe it is confirmed that units will double their HP inside a shield, and that the shield won't actually deflect anything, as it did in the movies. darthfergie
Yeah I don't think they deflect shots either. While they do give them double HP.
Guest Tie Guy
Now can you imagine if they deflected shots and had double HP. That would be totally unfair, even if the gungans are weak. I'm already worried as to the fairness of the faambas, and that's only with the HP thing.
darthfergie
I wouldn't be too greatly worryed. They only really have good Sea units.
