help selecting new ships

Hey i just picked up my old copy of xwa and havent played in like 10 years. im trying to figure out how you change your ship or equip missiles/flares. i looked in the manuel but all it says is click left arrow to access left and menu same with the right and then space to exit hanger but that just launches me out into the mission. any help on this would be greatly appreciated

If you're able to change your craft and weapon options in a mission, there should have been a "Go To Craft Selection" bit in the briefing screen, not "Go To Hangar".

no it doesnt give me any options in the briefing. After the mission loads i spawn in the hanger and on the left it says something like go back to debriefing start mission. and on the right youll find options for different ships or missiles or flare/chaff. ive pressed every button. 1-0 changes the view, q quits the mission, and space bar launches your ship.

Are you able to click on stuff w/ your mouse in that screen?
