aadrenter
Toasty Fresh has done some awesome work recently replacing almost all of the KotOR 1 weapon models, but the war droid has it's repeater built in as a part of its character model. How might I go about replacing that part of the model? Would it be easier/possible to just remove the gun altogether and have the game show the equipped weapon in the droid's hand? DarthParametric
You have two options. Either replace the blaster mesh altogether, or re-UV map it and give it a better texture.
Quanon
I think it'll be a lot of work. Not persé the modelling, but you'll have to re-UVWmap the model fully. So that your new mesh gets decently mapped. Then it's the question on how the animation part of the model will react to the new piece of mesh. I know SithSpecter altered the Revan model to include animation for the cape; by adding extra bones. So perhaps alterting the mesh and then adding the correct animations back into the model might give you an updated droid model. But be prepared to fix certain animations. I guess the droids have less animations then the player 'human' characters, but it's still a big chunck; so to speak. For the technical side I'dd contact Sithspecter about it. I never messed around much with the NPC characters and such. Lot of work though
Sithspecter
Best bet would be to use the replace function in MDLOps, similar to the lightsabers. You'd have to do some careful prep work on the blaster to get it to work correctly, but it's doable. You'd also have to edit the texture of the droid, because I think the blaster texture is used on it.

Oddly enough it displayed in the model viewer utility fine. When I tried to run the model back through MDLops, it finished with two error messages that just said "didn't find controller 240 in node type 5" What exactly does this mean and what can I do to fix it?
