Looking to the Past

Whenever I look for a new band to listen to, instead of looking for ACTUAL new bands, I look to the past. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind this strange tactic: it may just be that I don't like much modern music, or it might be that I feel more comfortable listening to a band with established sound and/or history.

It's for this reason that I will more readily start listening to... let's say Minor Threat than Anti-Flag (as an example).

I suppose this also has to do with the fact that commercialism (I think it's the word I'm looking for) has morphed music into a more popularized format for a broader appeal.

Anyways, that's besides the point.

Post a band and their album that you like here that's at least 10 years old (as in originally formed in 2000). If you don't have one, I'm challenging you to find a one! The internet is your friend :)

The older the band, the better too!

Here's my submission:

Song: Sweet '69

Artist: Babes in Toyland

Album: Nemesisters (1995)

Genre: Punk (no... really, the real kind.)

My description: Ever been disillusioned by the lack of badass in chick bands? Evanescence is okay but Flyleaf? Screw them. If you want chicks screaming and unrelenting badassery, then search no further.
