For wildcard words I then try to make a short enough word with only the confirmed letters - to rule out the length and the positions of the #. Since there was only a Y and no vowel, that didn’t leave a lot of choice yesterday. I exhausted just a single Y and WHY on every position (all were rejected) before trying MY. Same thing today.
