But how it works? Both versions are working at the same time. I don`t know. Both of them are using the same scripting from scumm and the new version maps pixels references to get to new resolution? The engine is still SCUMM (version 5, the one used by Monkey Island 1 CD and Monkey Island 2), the new graphic elements IIRC are overlayed on top of the original virtual screen via textures.
