Hi guys. Check this out. I was over at the mall and stopped inside software etc. and they have boards up with release dates on games. Well, to my suprise they had jediknight 2 up also. But the funny thing was the date. It had a release date of 7/5/2001. I even asked the salesperson and he checked it on the computer and said, YUP! 7/5/2001, This July 5th. We're taking pre-orders on it, should be in in 2 weeks!? After I told the guy that his computer was full of ****, his boss (the manager) also confirmed it. He also said that from time to time they get the dates mixed up. Well, We all know thats not true, But feel free to give software etc. a call. I also called other stores (eb world) and they don't have a date. hmmm, who knows, But I do have a good feeling about the rumored 12/01/2001 release date. I mean this is only a quake 3 engine. Half the work is done already. :)

Ops, Well, I fyou look on the first link I sent, it says 7/05 with other games soon to be released (within next few weeks). Then when you go to the link it says 7/01/2002. So they must have just updated it. Sorry guys... :) Damn! 7/01/2002?!? Thats a LONG time!

nahh, Don't think so. Usually month comes first. Mabe they put that date just to be sure (incase its pushed back). I'm pretty sure the game will be released in December of this year. Look how far they got in just a few months already. Like I said, Most of the HARD work is done. They already have a working engine that raven knows very well (elite forces). Implementing all the other stuff is gonna be a brez. Trust me. I've got a GOOD feeling about this one!

ahh, So much for 12/01/2001. I just checked the link to gamespot.com and they ARE babbages and software etc. So that 12/01/2001 release is out the window! Welp, Back to the original release. Which is fine. Guess they are gonna take there time with this one. I really don't see them pushing it any futher thou.

The 12/1/2001 release is wishfull thinking BS. If anything it's just hyp for online sellers to make money off of. Remember the E3 interview? The guy said that they were shooting for spring of 2002. And yes, it will probably be delayed. A 7/1/2002 release is reasonable, but it would come out before that if they stay on schedule.

It'll probably come out near Episode 2... or even later. I'm quite happy that LEC is working with Raven "a decent company". They have showed us great support so far.. and they have integrated the community.. that"s cool.

I knew that LEC couldn't make a good game alone. But yeah, LEC has the final word on the release date.. the best date to make money and all.. I hope they won't screw it up though.

Remember, Blizzard was supposed to have released Warcraft III 6 months ago according to their original date. Now it's set for winter this year. I'm guessing Obi-wan will be released around winter 2003, but I could be wrong.

This game is already more then half way developed (SOF2) and just needs some extras and good level design... So they can make an fairly accurate estimate of the release date imho...

I just hope that they will stay with the SOF2/Q3TA engine and don't want the latest from the Doom 3 engine incorporated... then we will have a Duke Nukem Forever scenario...

Personally, If it was released in Spring I would be thrilled. Expect a delay. Why would they want to bring it forward? They can have a few months extra to polish it and make it really special.

Those last few months are crucial - that makes the difference between a good game and a great game..
