Guest Commander Cold
I'm going to be shelling out 55 bucks (stupid tax) for this game by Friday if nothing changes my mind. Can someone give me an unbias review noting both the pros and cons of the game? If one of these was already posted can someone give me a link to that thread? Tie Guy
Here's my unbiased, if not inexperienced, opinion on teh important factors. Gameplay: I have to admit, the gameplay is a little slow for my taste, and the economy building is the reason for it. It involves so much micro-managing that you often don't even see a big battle until well into the game. Some people like that, but i, as an RA2 fan, find it slow. However, you can always play deathmatches, which significantly speed up the battles and the game. Otehr than that, the gameply is great. Every unit, no matter what its stats are, has a counter unit, and the key to the game is to find the right balance of units to defend and attack any target you come across. So, this makes for good, large scale battles which are quite fun, if you can last hold on long enough to get there. Graphics: Ok, so the graphics in the demo are really bad, don't worry. In the actual game with the resolution on the highest, the game looks quite good. Of course, there are many much better looking games, but they are 3d, and often sacrifice gameplay. However, even though slightly outdated, they don't effect how the game plays or how much fun it is. Sound: What can i say, John Williams is a genious. You know that in any Star Wars game the music will be top notch, and GB is no exception. Along with these are the sound effects, often taken straight from the movies and end up sounding very nice in most cases. The voiceovers, while not everyone is exactly how they were before, are still done nicely, and it adds alot to the campaign mode especially. Replay Value: This gaae was made for multiplayer, so if you like to play on the internet, then you could easily play this game for months if not years. If your expecting this to be a single player experience only, then i don't recomend it very highly, alhtough there are several campaigns and a skirmish mode. Fun Factor: If like, or can get past, all the micro managing then the game will be very enjoyable indeed. If thats not your thing, you can always play Deathmatches. Also, if you want to play with your friends over a network or the internet then it is very fun and challenging. Overall, i'd say it is worth it. Aki_Zeta-5
I'd suggest buying from a store with a good return policy, like Electronics Boutique; with them, you've ten days to return it and get a full refund. Then, if it sucks, you don't have to weep over your lost dollars.
IG88
This game is alot of fun, but it's also one of the buggiest games on the market. Just read the forums and you'll find a ton of info about these bugs. Hopefully the patch will address the worst of them....

IG88
Com Raven, I'm familiar with all of the games you've mentioned and you're entitled to your opinion, but this game is as buggy as any of those games. There are some debilitating bugs in SWBG as far as multiplayer use is concerned. This is in addition to the myriad of other bugs mentioned on this forum. You may not have experienced them, but that doesn't mean they don't exist, nor that they don't affect many users.
