..to h-- with (substitute orders with piracy ;))

*Okay, here goes*

I don't believe how people can use these boards, or the Heavengames boards for that sake, to post questions regarding the download of patches/manuals.

Heavengames topic: "The game is great -but I need the manual!". Oh, please.

GB.com: "And where can I get that no-cd patch?"

Sure, it's all at http://www.thisandthat.com. Do you want some french fries and a couple of porn movies with that ?

To everyone on the boards: This is not a pirate community. If you have questions regarding no-cd patches, manuals, etc., go ask someone else. Leave us alone.

I whole-heartedly agree. I paid my hard-earned $49 on the game... why would I want to help someone who stole it? After all, if all those pirates out there actually paid for games, they'd cost half the price, and I'd be able to buy more games.

I certainly will agree with that... There's nothing more annoying than clicking on the icon to play a game and having it yell at you because you have the wrong CD in the drive. Especially when you know darn well it's not going to actually need the CD; it's just checking to make sure you have it. Still, I understand why they do it -- it's just a typical case of the crooked people ruining it for the rest of us.

I definately agree Eagle. But why did you put the link for where people can find it if that stuff ticks you off so much???

Sure, it's all at http://www.*********.com. Do you want some french fries and a couple of porn movies with that ?

I disagree, if someone has a question then let them post it and leave it in the capable hands of the mods. please tell me if you have never taken a freebie when you shouldnt have, because i very much doubt that is the truth. are games overpriced because of piracy or would they be overpriced regardless... i think they would be regardless so i have no problems!!!

I admit that when I was in high school and thus low on funds, I did pirate some games for the old C-64. On the other hand, most of them were old-ish and some were no longer available on the market. I feel that's different. If they took GB off the market, and a year later someone was looking for a copy and couldn't find a way to buy one, then I'd have no problem with pirating. Otherwise, once I realized that piracy was conceptually equal to stealing, I stopped doing it. I've never once pirated a game for my IBM-clone machines, and I've had one or another of those since 1990 or so, after the C-64 died.

In terms of price, certainly game companies will try and charge what they can get for a game. But it's also a fact that they have to spend a lot of time, money, and effort trying to protect against piracy, and this effort costs money, which they then have to recoup. It's also true that if they could make up in volume for what they'd lose in cost by lowering the price of a game, they often would. Decreased piracy might not lower the price of a game like GB from $50 to $10, but it would surely lower it a little.

May the Force be with you.

Piricy is a cause of rising game prices. Someone keeps wanting me to burn GB for him and I say "NO Fing way"

Also, if you buy the games then the producers can make more games!

thats excactly right

piracy has caused the gaming industry to go into losses.

and thats why games are so expensive nowadays

you should see how many pirated cds are for sale in malaysia or china

i havent been to china but i have a chinese friend who told me that they barely have any original games

almost all are pirated

*phew*

The link is dead.

Damnit, SlashAndBurn, what are you trying to do, give me a heart attack ;)?

No-cd patches are okay for lazy people keeping them for themselves, I guess, but that's

a. not why people make them for and

b. not what 99.99% of the community uses them for.

I personally dont care...We have the power to ignore these people. SO if we dont want them on there then we ignore them and alert the mods. I am against people that disobey the law however only in thing big as piracy game up to busting banks. :) If you guys dont want to hear them then ignore them and alert the mods and the mods will come there in super fast speed and get rid of it if it is wrong. :)
