Snootch
hmmm...i used to make games with that engine and i think there are tutorials and help files somewhere. Use some search program and you should find. I learned things that way.
Guybrush_3pwood
yeah, tried that, but taking advice from someone here is easier
sheaday6
i wasted 5 days of my life with that cheezy looking bug factory, but decided that it wasn't worth it, and just learned C++ to make games.

well...it takes years to be able to pragram playable games with c++. so it's easier to make small games with klik'n'play. If you can use klik'n'play well, you can make pretty good games with it. It's NOT a bug factory.
jannar85
Use Adventure Game Studio - much better. Â http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk
Guybrush_3pwood
Yeah that one is pretty cool. You can make pretty good games from Klik&Play you know. Go to http://www.geocities.com/datadogg and have a look at 'the devil's triangle.' I've had a look at a lot of game engines but still the high tech ones are better. Anyway now you've brought it up, how do you use c++ ?
sheaday6
actually, if you guys really want to make a good adventure game, you should use the AGAST engine. It takes a little C++ programming knowledge, but the guide explains everything you need to make a good game. It looks good to. Did I mention its easy? God, they should pay me for this. Â P.S. I never said i was any good at making games with C++. And sorry if i called it a bug-factory. Its just that i've spent so much time with miracle "MAKE YOUR OWN GAMES! NO PROGRAMMING KNOWLEDGE NEEDED!" stuff that either doesn't work or looks hokey.
Haggis
Now that we're talking about game programming, does anyone know of any interfaces, type libraries or ActiveX controls or other stuff to use in VB to create games? I am sick of the fact that the only VB fun is to program the Office Assistant.
sheaday6
i tried visual basic, all i got was a couple buttons that made sounds when you clicked them . It might take some heavy duty programming to make a good game in that. But i could be wrong, i haven't looked into it much.
Haggis
Well, I found this one: http://www.revolution3d.de but I just don't feel good about it. I mean, how would one debug a game in VB? All those stupid properties and methods... but I could try it, when I have time, which is never.
Guybrush_3pwood
Go to http://www.ambrosine.com/resource.html It's got a lot of engines. Have you made any games using AGAST? Is it better than Adventure game studio?
ED
I know how to make games in KNP. I've got the games factory but there basicly the same. Go to http://www.fangames.co.uk to see lots of games made with one of the click team products. (other than Night of the Hermit, that was made using AGS)

Guybrush_3pwood
Ed have you put in the spoof of Monkey island 2: Lechuck's revenge from http://www.angelfire.com/games3/outriderpublishing/mi2.html yet? It's a sequel to 'The Devil's Triangle', I haven't tried it yet but the first one was really good for a fan game. It's only part one though. Some other fan games you can find at http://home.swipnet.se/~w-71702/download/index.html and there's this one called the secret of brother island but it's not as good. Anyway your site is pretty good you know, I'm searching it at the moment.
Guybrush_3pwood
Pretty cool game. I'm trying to make a game like that so I can explain what happens between mi2 and comi, and how he gets taller, skinnier, loses his goatee, how he changes clothes, how he escaped from big whoop and most importantly how the dimension changes from pixelated to cartoon in comi
