Dagobahn Eagle
Ever wanted to fly around on planets in X-Wing Alliance? Well, Flavid, an 'old-timer' in the editing community, has just released his Atmospheric patch, which lets you fly around on planets as well as in space! Download this patch at http://www.newreris.com/Flavid/atmosdl.htm Here are quite a few screenshots for you (there are more on his page): An A-Wing fighter of the New Republic on night patrol: A really great-looking sea landscape (and yup, the sky is included ): Ps. Instructions: Use MxvtED (downloadable from http://www.darksaber.freeserve.co.uk/)to install the models. If you encounter any problems, simply contact me and I'll help out. pps. If you want to make new XWA missions with or without these models, download the AlliED mission designer from http://homepages.picknowl.com.au/troyd/. Now enjoy your game! Dagobahn Eagle
Open this page, and go to the screenshot section: http://www.xwaupgrade.com Oh, and the Episode 1 ShipSet: Disclaimer: Jaw-dropping and drooling is natural and will go over after a couple of days (). And yes, it's still X-Wing Alliance. One and the same, just with a new look!

Dagobahn Eagle
While you're at it, get AlliED and start making missions. You can do a zillion times more than in that crappy scenario editor!! Me, for one, created a large labyrinth made out of 24 Repair Yards put together and made it into an eight-player all-on-all mission. If you ever need help over there, my XWA community username is Cloud (from FFVII ). Well, the author of the atmospheric patch just posted another thread of pics at http://www.xwaupgrade.com called 'Okay, now for the real deal!' The title of it should say a big deal Earth and it's moon: I'm awaiting the release of Moff Hernan's SDS project. Even better than this one, as it will feature vehicles and bases (AT-ATs, AT-STs, Echo Base with Ion cannon, Echo Base shield generator, a train, and more! :slobber:) Hey, they have to do something to keep the community alive

Havoc Stryphe
Looks great! I loved this game before, now I just lust after it! Time to take it off my shelf and reinstal this bad boy. Thanks for the headsup!
Dagobahn Eagle
Having flown a few atmospheric missions for XWA, I find the only "bug" to be the lack of shadows when flying over terrain (as atmospheric flight was never included in the game -I won't say 'was never intended to be included', for there are some empty slots named stuff like 'Endor', 'Tatooine', and 'Nar Shaadar'). Forgot to mention http://www.xwlegacy.net, which has 39 models for you to download; everything from the E-Wing to the Borg cube (yes, the Borg cube ).
