Millions o' Monkeys
correct me if im wrong but vongs are saber bearing "things" are they not ?
mariners2001
I haven't read the books, but I believe they do not use lightsabers and are species that are immune to force powers and considerably powerful.
Kestral
SPOILER ALERT. . . . . . . . . . . . . The Vong came from outside the galaxy. They are immune to the force and use purely organic technology. However, they don't exist in the timeline at the time of JKO.
Kestral
Also, the thing about Bakura is clearly insubstantial, considering the books clearly state that Bakura is out of the Vong invasion until they overrun the Core. Maybe the Ssi-Ruuk would use their technology against the Vong, as well, Leia smiled grimly. That would be the ultimate humiliation. The Ssi-Ruuk haven't been attacked yet, and since they were a main adversary in the Battle at Bakura, it is obvious Bakura has not been overrun... mariners2001
Again, I've never read the books, but the article suggests that the Vong were present even around Episode 1.
Kestral
Originally posted by mariners2001 Again, I've never read the books, but the article suggests that the Vong were present even around Episode 1. Actually, no. In Rogue Planet, the planet they visit uses very similar technology to the Vong. They make organic ships, chemically bonded to its owner. They mention a 'race from beyond the galaxy, with ships; organic ships of great power, whence the idea for the Giants came'. They don't appear again until the NJO series. The people he mention in Empire are the Ssi-Ruuk, not the Vong.
Jedi Legend
If Kyle discovered the Vong, before NJO then the New Republic wouldn't have been so surprised when the Vong started their invasion. Kyle would have alerted the New Republic of the threat. Unless he turns to the dark side of the force and defects to the Yuuzhan Vong, which would explain why he didn't tell the New Republic about the threat. The Seeker
Yeah, in Rogue Planet, there is mention of 'the far outsiders' who Vergere (a missing jedi who Anakin and Obi-Wan were looking for) dissappeared with. Now, in the time of NJO, Vergere has returned with the Vong as one of the most debated characters since no one knows if she is one of the Vong now, or is playing spy. Either is possible since she has been with them since early post Phantom Menace.
Redwing
Well, isn't Kyle a military advisor at the time of the Vong invasion? Regardless, I think having Kyle deal with the Vong would be awesome actually
Kestral
14-15 years after ANH isn't near the Vong invasion. More like Shadow Academy times.
