Seriously, I think it is at least as reasonable as having 7 'dark jedi' appear vitrually out of nowhere ... and it gives an excuse to have you face legions of faceless saber-wielding force users ... rather than having to talk about how a big amount of Dark force users came about at the same time as all the other EU stuff with Luke et al being so knowing of so much and so clueless of their development ... They are non- Force, but gain access to, hence the experiments with the Force. This is a problem to the NR therefore enter kyle.
