JediArs
In JKII, there will no doubt, be the force pull power. But will it only be Stormtroopers without guns? In JKI, they ran around like fools but in MOTS, they would come up and punch you. Thats kind of bold for a stormtrooper, but it was sort of cheesy. I wondering how JKII will improve upon this force power. Say, mabey the stormtroopers run away and get more weapons or they sneak while your not looking and grab their weapon (thats if you haven't killed them). Thrawn
With the AI being so advanced in this game, my guess would be that the troopers will run away, perhaps to the cover of additional troopers.
Sturmgewehr
A (very) small part of me hopes they run around like headless chickens. That way you could take, say a group of 5 Stormtroopers, pull all their weapons away and pick them up yourself. Then at your leisure, use 3rd level Froce Grip and pick them up and throw them into each other, Force Push them off ledges (ooooo, 3rd level force Grip off of ledges, oh now I want this game even more!), maybe use Jedi Mind trick to get them to fight themselves (what could be more fun than to watch a big group of stormtroopers all punching eachother?). But that's just me... My guess is they'd run for cover or try to pick up their weapon or the nearest weapon on the ground.
Belgirion
I would rather the stormtrooper comes up and punches you or pulls out a pistol from his armor and starts attacking you. I mean stormtroopers are supposed to accomplish their mission at all costs
dazilla
I think they would run for cover behind a box or something, or some kind of obstruction, and try to get their comrades to fight for them. But, if he's the only one, he might just run up to you and punch you...or something like that, anyways.
Broode
How about, if you kill one of their comrades with a weapon, they'll attempt to pick it up and then shoot you with it. I found it annoying how in JK if you pulled a weapon from a troopers hands he would run arround like a headless chicken even though the floor was covered with weapons. ScummyRAT
I'm glad to hear that the Stormies are going to brain up a bit. I liked that they ran away, but there were two things about that that bugged me: The running ones were the ones who were yelling "Stand at your post"!, and their arms were still positioned as if holding a rifle. I always put on the external camera and ran after them while punching. Good sport. The attacking ones in MotS were a little off, IMO. Keeping up the offensive is nice, but you're a STORMTROOPER, for godsakes! One would assume that they'd be trained to throw more than some clumsy barfighter punch. Not only that, but don't they have a grenade and/or holdout blaster seeded in the armor? I've yet to hear of those being used.
Silent_Thunder
I agree that both JK and MotS didn't do the force pull on enemies too well... But if I had to choose which kind to use, I'd take MotS's version without a doubt. I also thought it was rediculas that enemies would be 100% helpless when force pull was used on them, in JK. But I also didn't like the way Stormies attacked you in MotS after they had thier gun ripped right from their hands. It looked as if they were expecting it... Also, it really, really defeated the purpose of force powers like grip, when you could just tap the force pull key, and have a completely neuturalized soldier, but press the force grip key for 10 seconds, and still have a small threat. But with the new AI I believe enemies will be able to still be dangerous, and better off dead even after you pull their gun from them. Maybe Force pull may not work 100% of the time, all the time. Maybe there's a delay between each time you get to use force pull, that way, you can't just run into a room, deflect some shots, and pull everyone's gun away in a matter of seconds. Maybe troopers could have several random reactions to getting their gun pulled away from them, that way they wouldn't be too predictable 1. One could be a simple "run away tactic" This tactic would be followed up momentarily by one of the other reactions. 2. The second kind would be to pull out a secondary weapon, and atempt to kill you with that. If he get's his second gun pulled away, he would repeat step number 1, if he's already done it, or do it fresh. 3. Pick up a weapon off the ground. Maybe the weapon you pulled from the stormy didn't move so far. He might try to go after that, and use it agianst you. 4. Send for reinforcements. Maybe the guy you pulled the gun away from would run off into the next room, or the room after it, and bring some troopers with him. That would still give a completely helpless stormy a way to be a threat. 5. Resort to hand to hand combat, or stun baton (assuming stun baton can't be pulled away). The stormy would start using fists, but hopefully not in as a direct way as in MotS, or any other kind of "unpullable" weapon. I think random reactions to force pull would really help. Also putting limitations on force pull would be nice. Maybe have 1 force pull take up a large ammount of mana, and have a 5 second delay between force pulls, and also by decreasing the range of pulling by quite a bit. TUS_Tomcat
its not just pulling guns??? i hear you can actually pull their legs from under them, but not literally, ie, they fall...
CaptainRAVE
Something new for you all..................when you move the crosshair over an object it'll turn a certain colour which will mean that you can push/pull that object.....it will only happen with some and will depend how powerful those force powers are
Broode
CaptianRAVE... How do you know that? Silent_Thunder: That would be the best way to do it. I never even thought of their reactions being randomised. Raven/Lucasarts: you'd best take note, this guys onto something.
TUS_Tomcat
you are correct!! to illustrate: crosshair is white as he moves over dead stormies and guns it becomes red.... also notice the Dark Jedi waiting below! I wonder which level it is, does he have his saber yet, if not ?!?! Wouldnt it be cool to have to beat your first reborn WITHOUT saber? Bet thats hard... [EDIT] I notice now that he DOES have a Force meter already, so he probably does have the saber but just wasnt using it[/EDIT]
Kettch
Are you sure this is a dark jedi? It could be one of Kyle's allie either...perhaps its Jan?
Ushgarak
I'm sorry if I am speaking in ignorance here, but do we know if you CAN pull people's weapons away in JKII? It was too powerful in JKI and is not mentioned in the review (though the review does mention the changing colour crosshairs when you move it over pull/pushable objects)
Moses
Yes Ushgarak, it's been mentioned before that we will be able to pull weapons away. I particularly remember one article which was talking about the three different levels of each power. When they talked about pull, they said you could originally rip weapons out of the hands, then rip them out and pull to yourself, and then actually pull the person carrying the weapon. I THINK they were in that order, I could be wrong. I don't know how you would differentiate if you were pulling a weapon or the person at the later levels of the power though. Lord_FinnSon
I went back to find good quotes, so here is what IGN preview has to say about it: Watching these poor schlubs get yanked off of their feet, right onto their stupid faces is quality entertainment. Then there is GameSpot preview which goes into more detail: The first iteration of force pull, for example, will give Katarn the ability to knock enemies off their feet. With the second, slightly enhanced version of that ability, Katarn will be able to disarm enemies from a distance, while the most powerful force pull available will let him actually strip a weapon off someone and use it as his own. Mixed with Force push these two are my favorites amongst all available powers(plus Force jump and saber throw).
