reserved_name Posted March 12, 2002 Posted March 12, 2002 well the game seems to have gone gold, so i was thinking, does the collectors edition include Mysteries of the Sith (my MotS cd is badly scratched) or just Jedi Knight 2 and original Jedi Knight ??
Keyan Farlander Posted March 12, 2002 Posted March 12, 2002 In my opinion, not including MotS was the stupidest thing ever. Why the heck not include it?
reserved_name Posted March 12, 2002 Author Posted March 12, 2002 yeah i just found out it includes even the original Dark Forces.. hmm wonder why no MotS.. might still get it, since i never had original Dark Forces
Pipe Smoke Posted March 12, 2002 Posted March 12, 2002 Yea I'm getting the collect-whore's edition most certainly. That's what I have reserved. I mean, I never played the original DF (well, the demo... but I never got the full game) Not including MOTS certainly is a lost opportunity and very lame, but... I'm not particularly surprised. My main motivation is just respect for the original JK, and desire to have that cool tin case (it is tin isn't it?) AND most of all, I need a key chain.
Justus Posted March 13, 2002 Posted March 13, 2002 For people that don't have Dark Forces, it's a good buy... best game of all time.
Saient Posted March 13, 2002 Posted March 13, 2002 I wouldn't say DarkForces is the best game of all time.. It was fun but its kinda hard to play now a days since I haven't figured out a good way to deal with the keyboard and mouse. So for old games but good games go get the doom series and download the zdoom mod which lets you play with the keyboard and mouse very cool anyway I thought the collectors ed only contained JK1+JK2 and a stupid keychain. not worth it IMO
Rogue15 Posted March 13, 2002 Posted March 13, 2002 ya the no mots thing was the stupidest thing anyone's done since 9/11. umm I'll probably get the collector's edition since I don't have dark forces, and i'm letting my friend borrow the jk cds (which he reported were lost somewhere in his house.....), so the collector's edition is totally worth it, it's like $20 for each game instead of like $50 for just 1. I don't have dark forces...and have been wanting that game but never could find it separately. still sux about mots tho...that game rules. (check my mots signature to dload some not-too-bad mp levels i made for it.) hehe now if i can only get $60........
Squalliss Posted March 13, 2002 Posted March 13, 2002 If you don't already own all the Jedi Knight games and are a fan - then no soup for you! You should already own them. I am getting the regular release, cause I own Dark Forces, Jedi Knight II, and MOTS.
DaAan Posted March 13, 2002 Posted March 13, 2002 i dont own the original DF. but i own JK and MotS. and i will get the regular JK2 cuz i dont really want the original DF, and who needs 2 copies of JK?
nykel007 Posted March 13, 2002 Posted March 13, 2002 I had the option to buy either JK or XWA I chose XWA, I'm now thinking I should have gotten JK instead.
Kurgan Posted March 13, 2002 Posted March 13, 2002 Yeah, not including MotS is a stupid idea, especially if they are including DF. DF doesn't even have multiplayer! C'mon guys get with the program! Anyhow, to the one with the scratched CD, try a scratch repair kit.. (about 10$) they work really well I've found, cleaned and repaired a lot of non-working CD's to like new condition with 'em.
Pipe Smoke Posted March 13, 2002 Posted March 13, 2002 Dark Forces is not the best game of all time. System Shock 2 is. And I just found out the collector's edition DOES include an individually wrapped cup of MOTTS apple sauce, small consolation I know... but it's something.
