heir03
I was thinking, a really cool idea for a game would be to basically play out the star wars trilogy in a jedi knight/x-wing alliance type game. You would start off probably as Luke or Leia, I don't know. But you would go through all aspects of the movies, from first person shooter to flying an xwing/falcon, and ect. it would have stuff that wasnt' in the movies as well, little side missions, and stuff like Shadows of the empire in there. What do you think?
brosser_1999
I know this is gonna sound like B.S. but, I seriiously was thinking about the same thing. Great minds think alike, I guess This game would kick all a$$, but it would be HUMONGOUS!!!!
Sherack Nhar
Lucasarts already tried multiple-gameplay-styles games twice: Shadows of the Empires and the Rebel Assault series. None of them would be considered "masterpieces" Most Star Wars fans already thought of that idea. It's the basic "movie to game" conversion...it sounds good on paper, but in practice it's not possible yet.
Vagabond
I wouldn't say that, Sherack Nhar. Those other games you mentioned are not this game. Judging the potential success of a "movie-to-game" model based off of the flop that was the Rebel Assault games is unfair. And SotE was too arcadish to be considered a true "movie-to-game". Think of an FPS game where you can explore cities, walk inside of spacecraft, pilot ships, etc. It would almost be like Star Wars Galaxies except instead of basing your controlable abilities on RPG statistics, you would control them yourself, just as in a true FPS or in a true flight sim. So your accuracy in shooting is all up to you. You may have some statistic-based skills, such as medical or slicing - things that don't correlate directly to action-based gameplay, but for the most part how well you do depends on how well you can play the game. Think of it as an RPG-Action game. Personally, I think it be excellent *guitar rift*
heir03
It wouldn't be that hard. It would basically only have two different forms of gameplay, one like Jedi Knigt II (FPS stuff), and another like XWing Alliance (inside cockpit, managing power between shields, all that stuff that made the xwing/tie fighter games so awesome). Yes, Great minds DO think alike. =)
