Crazy_dog no.3
I still want to kill the Vong. hmmmm...
DashRendar
Well the Vong would be cool, and although I haven't read the NJO Series yet, I get the idea that they are good at pretty much good at everything...so what would their disadvantages be (besides Jedi of course)
TheMightyJim2k
Give me a little brief run down of the Vong, their history, and how you see them fitting into GB (unique units, strengths and weaknesses, land or space maps, etc.). I dont really know much about the Vong other than I think they invaded the Galaxy after the truce between the Empire and the New Republic was formed, which was after the Emporer was finally destroyed by Han Solo when he attempted to take Anakin Solo's body. Let me know if that timeline sounds right, and then fill me in on the Vong. Thanks
DashRendar
Well I don't know all that much either...but I do know that tey are extremely briliant and clever. They have no actual machinery-all their technology is all organic: the only actual ship I know of is the Coral Skipper, the name they have for their fighters. KhaleeLah
Ok. All my NJO books are at home so I don't know names of all the different guys, but... Workers: Shamed ones Jedi: Shapers Unique Unit: Vong Warriors Troopers: Those lizard guys Fighter: Coralskippers Assault Mech: Those big dinosaur looking things Bounty Hunter: Voxyn Don't you love my technical terminology?? Anybody else care to join in here? I could see as their disadvantage having the "fog of war" close back in after they have passed because they don't have a presence in the force... Crazy_dog no.3
Who will win... Wookieee or Vong?
KhaleeLah
if they did a biological assault, the Vong. 1v1? Wooks. We'll never see it in the books as according to lore, Lucas has told the book writers they can't touch the Wooks. KL
Crazy_dog no.3
All the more reason to kill them.
TheMightyJim2k
So wait explain the fog of war closing in, i thought the fog of war already did close in after you no longer had a unit in the area, or do you mean that the black covering of the area would come back. Sorry but i got a little lost there....
Crazy_dog no.3
Fog of war is the see-thru gray stuff, not the black stuff. If u type forcesight into the chat box it will tear off the fog of war, but not the black stuff unless u type forceexplore.
KhaleeLah
Ok. I thought black stuff was fog of war. So whatever the black stuff is called, have it move back in if no unit is in area. Then unless you had a good memory, you wouldn't even know where resources were... KL
TheMightyJim2k
I can see that working, one of those aspects of the game that doesnt seem like it would be so bad until you totally lost track of your opponents base in all of your micromanaging. Interesting idea. So.... after all of this debate what do you guys think are the best civs for an expansion pack between episodes 2 and 3, knowing now that we most likely will get 2 civs if we get another expansion, what two would you pick and why.......... TheMightyJim2k
To get this thread possibly going in a new direction, Two Civs to be in an expansion between episodes 2 and 3. What two would you pick and why? My picks.... 1. Vong 2. New Republic/ New Jedi Order These two civs will never be seen in movies, and they happen to be late enough in the star wars history that they wouldnt give away secrets to episode 3 that lucas would never let happen. Plus the only time that civs like this might get made is post episode 2 in the star wars frenzy that will be kicked up. Hey i know it is unlikely, but we can always hope. Crazy_dog no.3
A Jedi civ would totally unbalance the game, and the Rebels are the New Republic. I don't like the Vong but would like to have them included.
KhaleeLah
My votes are: 1) Vong 2) Chiss KL
duder
1.Vong. These guys could be really unique without being unbalanced. 2.Black Sun (underworld civ).
JEDI_MASTA
Mon Cals And corellia there is no place for the vong... corellia would be the perfect air rush civ (esp in DM) and the mon cals could be a super navy/air/ heavy weopons civ (kinda like wooks just navy instead of troops)
Crazy_dog no.3
But Corrielians are part of the Allaince.
fido4fox
Since we may be looking at different civs, how about a Mechis 3 civ? You know, the driod planet where IG-88 was created. They could have superior trooper units, similar to the TF, but weak heavy weapos or something. I know I have been critical of others, so.....let me have it! Fido
TheMightyJim2k
No actually that sounds really cool fido. Why dont you give some more details about the civ and what different units would be. The only thing i am wondering about is if is going to get old fighting with droids once we have both the TF and the Confederacy, but if they are a fairly unique set of droids with IG-88 as their bounty hunter, it could definitely be cool. So tell us some more.
TheMightyJim2k
Oh, and MASTA why would the Vong have no place? (serious question not a criticism i just wanted to know why you thought so)
fido4fox
Well to tell you the truth I am not really good at giving details but some of the tings they could get are: Since they are driods, they wouldnt have to get motivator upgrades or computer assisted aming and homing capability. I was actually thinking about IG series driods for their troopers. Maybe they would have to get initial flight school upgrades, initially that is. Maybe not give them upgraded mechs, but well constructed heavy weapons. Sith jedi's, but no upgraded ships except for heavy frigates. (ie no upgraded destoryers or cruisers. The only reason I would not make them pay for upgrades would be the fact that they are driods building droids, which, technically is different than the TF as they are nemodians building and genosians building the driods to do their dirty work. Just an idea Fido
