Duel Of The Fates...

Hey all I was just wondering if anyone is making progress with a Duel Of The Fates level, and if so, were would be some screenshots, or anything like that. ;)

 

This level is the most anticipated level in the JK2 community, pretty much and I'm REALLY looking forward to a great one. =) Good luck all you modders. :D

A friend and myself are conspiring on making a DETAILED map of the Theed power Plant inwhich the duel between Darth Maul, Obi-Wan and Qui-gon took place.

 

As of right now, process on the map is at about 1%

 

This is out plan.. the Power Plant will be a Free For All map... while the pit area... including the forcefields, will be a Duel map...

 

both maps are taking VERY long to so as we will have to make our own custom textures for the floors and what not...

 

Like I said.. this is going to be very detailed...

 

so please stay patient... you won't regret it.

yes, our plan is to make it very close to the show while still making it also retain functionality as a game level. We hope we wont dissapoint.

Well reflective textures would be nice and the big hallway with the red closing force fields, then the music and the hieght and it'll be marmite covered chicks all round me thinkz

I have the Ep 1 DVD and I must have watched the Duel scene about 20-40 times so get a feel on the size, look and layout of the level.

 

The flooring and catwalks look like black speckled marble / granite. There aren't any reflective surfaces there..

 

the hard part will be the pit area..

the pit are in a sense is somewhat ovalish.. The pit iself is round however the rooms is circular but also eliptical.. so that will be hard to map properly as well.. other than that the forcields will be the real challenge, to be on a timer and to open up sequentially.

 

I have the grande job of creating the textures used for both levels... since I have looked through ALL of the textures in JK2 and non of them seem up to par.

No no just kidding no bump =P

 

another thing, as far as I know, there are atleast 2-3 other groups working on a similiar map. So you'll have your pick of which one to download. =)

Unikorn, icefox98 was just asking if WLS was planning a future release of a possible DOTF map, thats all... from there, it got a little off the WLS part of the threat... :-D

FYI, The floor of the pit area is reflective...

I wasn't talking about the pit room... if you bother to read... I would have mentioned the pit room...

 

I was talking about the Generator Complex where the energy spires are.

Downloading through a gameserver is not done, imho. It ruins the game for the rest of the people, playing on it. When you download from a server, the ping and lag for the players become unbearable...
