Viper909
Alright, this obviously just started with the new patch. Anyways, no matter what, mouse4 (the first side button on intellimouse explorers) is bound to force pull no matter what. I've tried rebinding it to pull, then back to use force, tried binding it to other stuff, tried unbinding it, tried rebinding force pull, and looked in the mpconfig.cfg file, nothing works. And its a real pain in the ass.
Jedircj
I have the same problem also, except my 4th button is set for force jump and when ever i jump it also saber throws, really sucks, it does it in single and multi. Ive lost my saber a number of times, maybe its some new key coding they put in with this patch or a new move, either way i hope theirs a way to fix it. Best game never the less RJ. goorooloo
I'm having similar problem with my 5-button MS Intellimouse Explorer too. Although I have Mouse4 bound to speed, and Mouse5 bound to Lightsaber Style. Eveytime I hit either button my "3rd person view" switches. Not a problem with the saber-style so much but hitting speed then changind views means many a quick death. At first I thought, "Oh cool if you're using 1st person guns and hit speed it automatically changes to 3rd person so you can see better." Then the opposite happened and I died instantly on CTF Streets. Wtf is up Raven/LucasArts? Btw, I could never use grip on my mouse4/5 because the button never registered as being 'held' down edit: BTW, "Alt" is the only key I have bound to '3rd person view change'. Is it possible that your jump/alt-fire, or your force-pull/force-use is also bound to "Alt". Mabey there's a pattern?
nubby
Im getting the same prob but mine is bound to saber throw.

goorooloo
Do any of you have anything bound to your Alt key? If so, what?
Tchouky
configure your mouse4 and mous5 in intelipoint to be something like : mouse4 => PGUP mouse5 => PGDN and then in the game bind your keys to PGUP and PGDN
D'akt Sangwar
my intellimouse explorer is fine i have my side buttons bound to text so i can say all my cheesey lines
Owen
Mine is also bound to saber throw with my MS Intellimouse Optical. It is weird that a patch would affect MS mice this way.
goorooloo
After doing a little more fooling around this is basically what I've found to be my problem, see if it sounds like it's what's causing your's too. I had "3rd Person View Change" bound to my Alt-key and that's what kept popping up everytime I hit either mouse4/mouse5. Ok, so I changed my Alt-key binding to "+taunt", same thing, evertime I hit mouse4/5 I get my taunt plus whatever was bound to either mouse4/5. (Didn't matter what was on 4/5) Dunno the technical cause, (it was obviously brought on by the last patch though), but I guess all I can do for now is find another place to bind my 3rd person view change. Alt dosen't exist to me in JK2 anymore I guess. BTW, my Ctrl, Shift, CapsLock, and TAB keys are all bound to various uses as well so I'm confident, (for me anyway), that the Alt-key is the problem. And, yes, using the MS Intellipoint Software in Windows to rebind your mouse buttons to "regular keyboard keys" like PgUp/PgDn and such will fix the problem for the game but you'll lose your PageForward/PageBack functionality in Windows/IE as well. (Or whatever other familiar use you have already assigned there)

goorooloo
Yep but do you really use the mouse4/5 butons in windows ? All the time actually! I love them for high-speed internet surfing for the pageback/pageforward. BUT, they have made me rather inefficeint (sp?) for moving around folders and such on my HD though. (I seem to always start at my, "My Documents" directory and 'surf' from there.)
Viper909
Well that would explain it, my alt is bound to pull.. :-(.. i liked pull as alt, oh well.
txa1265
Well ... what I ended up doing was remapping everything. I used "L" and "I" as my swap keys. I had an unwanted combo pull-saber throw on Mouse 4 (again, Intellimouse Explorer) - which did clear the room fast as I pulled one stormie down and nailed the guy behind him with my saber However, I was wide open too often. Now everything is back to normal. I removed any 'keypad' mappings, as I am using a laptop. Do we know of any other Single Player 'surprises' ... I've not found anything, but the forum is hard to dig through with so much MP stuff ... Mike
NightFallMyriad
You guys too? When I try to use intelli mouse button 5 for pull, it does pull most of the times, but other time it taunts. Is this a bug or is it the same for everyone? Its really starting to bother me though because after winning saber locks, you can't attack cuz ur hand is in the air and ur char saying "Hey, you there!" MrDomino
Ah, it must be the alt key. I'm glad you figured that out goorooloo. My Exlporer Optical does the same thing, in my case for saber throw, since the default setting for alternate fire is "alt". I'm going to try unbinding "alt" to see if that works. I thought it was my mouse going bad for a while.
perkz
I only have a 3 button mouse, so i can't check this, but i'm guessing that the IntelliPoint software is interfering here too normally, the mouse 4/5 buttons are bound to forward/back - IE style - right?? Well, to go forward/back in IE - you hit Alt+<-- or Alt+--> I'm guessing that JK2 is registering both what you've set mouse4/5 to and also to the first keypress that Intellipoint does (Alt) Maybe try disabling that option while playing JK2 or something... -Perkz-
CoreyGH
As has already been mentioned, us the Intellemouse software (latest version is 4.0) to rebind your mouse buttons to actual keyboard keys, like pageup and pagedown Also, if you don't wanna do that because you can't use the mouse to go back and forward in IE, you can just Enable Program Specific Button Settings and then change the buttons BACK for IE to the forward/back ones
Crack 6K
This is an incredibly dumb solution. I'm sure many of us play other games besides JK2, and those other games support those 2 extra buttons seperately. And I believe setting them to keyboard buttons will negate the backward/forward funciton in internet browsers that the mouse is most useful for. I would rather a 'local' solution for a 'local' problem, since that is what this is ...
