Meh, I broke and downloaded it too lol. It wasn't EpII. Figured since the screening and whatnot is out, and people have been reviewing it, surely a bootleg is floating out there somewhere heh. I don't know why I downloaded it, seeing it on my comp won't stop me from visiting the theaters 17million times. But bah, I still haven't found my bootleg and I'll just settle for reading the book first if I can find it (has the book even been released?). I'd ended up borrowing the book from a friend before Episode I came out. I don't feel like that spoiled the experience for me. Sure, I knew what would happen already but the book gave me further insights on what was going on or little references the characters might have made to little events George Lucas had to cut out of the final making (like the reference Watto makes to Anakin crashing that podracer and saving most of the craft...that was the pod he crashed at the very first chapter of the book). So yeah, I'll be keeping my eye out for the book. Watching the bootleg first would be a definate spoiler so I'm glad that fake download put me in my place ^_^.

I read the book for aotc. I always read the books before watching the movies because watching the movie ruins all the cool visualizations I get in my head before reading something the first time. I would rather read something first, then watch the movie of it. Anyone else like that here?

Very, VERY much so - and for the same reasons... although I usually only do that if the book came first (unlike with Star Wars - but I didn't have/know there was a choice when I first saw it... I think that's where the book-written-first bit comes from...)

A movie [of a book] is someone else's interpretation of the story, and I prefer to have my own visualisations/perceptions of a story firmly in place before subjecting them to someone else's :)

I will never read any of the Star Wars movie novelizations, because the books were based on the movie, not the other way around. I would rather watch the movie the way it was supposed to be, rather than someone else's creative interpretation. If the movie was based on the book, I would feel differently.

You're right, I read the bootlegged script like 5 months ago, then i just finished the book about. So i kinda got to play around with my own creativity before reading the book. Something really weird was the fact that I hadn't seen the trailers yet and a lot of the planets and other areas were really different from what I had pictured. Anyway...

I sure am glad I read the LOTR series before watching it last december.
