What really makes a player cheap?

Being cheap is doing DFA while a guy is bowing. Cheapness is saying that your away watching the simpsons and the guy comes to kill you so the next guy plays but you kill them. Also other tricks of this kind.

I'm cheap... I always use DFA, backstab, push/pull... kicks, saber throws... 4 hit heavy combos (Last move is a DFA)... rush rapid turn backstabs... Leaping behind foes backstab... fakeout DFA, then backstab... 9 hit mid stance combos... med packs... abso...

 

And the best... stand there and keep facing them... I heard it autoblock was cheap also.

 

Even frequently SPAM killing myself was considered cheap... Agh I give up...

Now here is something thats really cheap and it happens to me All. THE. TIME.

 

In an FFA game I go into a corner, turn my saber off and then start typing or configuring stuff or take leak or whatever. 8 out of 10 times when I return to my PC someone is wildly whacking away on me or I'm already dead.

Where could there be possibly be ANY fun in that?!

a backstab is not a cheap move.. running backwards just to get one in is.. and very foolish i might add... the servers i play on we get people of all skill levels.. some are good some are lamers.. you do what you can imo i dont bow anymore.. if a person gets within a few feet of me it results in me lunging them.. and if they were trying the yellow special imagine thier surprise when i lunge beneath thier attack and then back stab them for a quick kill

 

anyway i am getting bored with these posts.. its pretty easy to get away from cheap players.. its called hitting esc and then going back to main menu.. then going on to another server..

What is cheap?

Hmmm...

 

Using the graces of others to cover your own ineptitude. That's cheap.

 

EXAMPLE:

Killing someone when they are bowing. They are helpless, if the only way you can get a kill is to kill them that way, or when they are typing, that, man, is CHEAP. Wait two seconds, THEN pounce on 'em.

 

 

Kickvoting. Kickvoting is cheap.

It's much more fun to find like-minded people and gang up on the person you want off the server. (and no, I've yet to be a victim of kickvoting.)

 

 

Killing someone whose saber is off is NOT cheap. If they want to be peaceful they can SPECTATE, otherwise they are gathering resources...and any player of Warcraft, Starcraft, or Command and Conquer will tell you that you MUST cut off an opponent's resources as soon as you can. It is a fight to the virtual death out there, if they are playing they should be defending themselves, and if they are getting health back and building their shields etc, that is the same as attacking you....because you know that that is their intent in the long run.

 

Now, to take a step back...

 

Killing someone who is gathered with others watching a duel in ANY server CAN BE cheap. They aren't gathering resources, they aren't being offensive in any way. They are watching and learning and waiting (maybe) to duel the winner.

 

Now, if ALL of the players in the server are doing that, and you want to fight, leave that server, find another one. If you attack in that situation YOU are cheap, because all you're looking for is some easy kills.

 

If there are others off fighting, go find them. BUT, if you are one of the watchers, you should be aware of your surroundings and be prepared to DEFEND YOURSELF anyway.

Someone who is CHEAP is looking for the EASY kill.

 

Even if it is not spammed, I suppose that is why a lot of people consider the heavy or medium backsweep and the light backstab a "cheap" move. It's an easy way to take out someone in one hit. Used judiciously, however, the back moves can be effective tools, as opposed to a "cheap" move.

No, just the fact that all sabre duels revolve around knocking the other guy down and then backslashing them. You'll have to forgive me. I just keep hoping for the day when a game can pull off some of the intricacies of sword combat.

Nothing is cheap except using bugs in the game to your advantage or breaking rules that you agree to explicitly.

 

People that bitch otherwise were just operating under a different set of made up rules that their opponent was either not aware of or didn't care about.

By your rules, what exactly are we allowed to do? Dance? Pray to the gods that virtual lightning comes out of no where and kills you, and we get the credit? You exclude half the things in the game, all of which are counterable. As to your other complaints...well I'll just ignore those.

That's not cheap. If you don't want to be killed while fighting someone, then play FFA so you can duel unharmed. BTW, I think it's hilarious when some guy tries to kill you with a gun and/or explosives, while you're busy dueling .

These are tactics that are in the game. Doing them does not make you a cheap 'faget'--it means you play the game. Spamming a move isn't even cheap, it's just stupid. If it keeps working, go with it. I just think it's stupid, because spammers are generally easy to kill, because you know what's coming.

 

I mean...you even have a problem with people using the Alt Fire of the powerful guns...have you heard of Force Push??

the cheapest thing in the world is when you are off in the corner adjusting your force powers, (adding absorb for example once discovering all the lightning whores) and someone goes out of their way to come and slash you heavy style. that icon is above your head and everything. that is total newbie garbage.

Hitting someone with the keyboard icon above his head still *IS* cheap, no matter what. You could be typing or configure your keys, changing your skin or go for a fu<>ing leak, for christ's sake, whatever. There's a dozen reasons for doing so.

 

To me it happens All. THE. TIME. I even

1. go to a dark corner that's out of everyones way

2. turn my saber off in case anyone cares about SC or something

2. turn on the keyboard icon

 

8 out of 10 times when I return, somebody found me and hacks away on me. When I type: "XY, you are a ****1ng lamer and a coward" I get answers like "Sorry" or no answer at all...

 

I even avoid hitting people who don't have the keyboard thingy and are just standing still. I hit them once and if I see that they don't move or react, I retreat cause these kills are no fun...

reptition of unbalanced tactics is what is cheap to me. in this game, i don't really believe there's supposed to be a "BFG"-type weapon or a gluon-gun type weapon.

 

so if in quake2, someone constantly grabbed the bfg everytime it respawned and spammed it in the largest room, i would say that person is cheap. in this game, if they use backswing/backstab all the time (which i believe is an unbalanced attack), they are cheap. those kinds of things are there to balance out the game for newbies, not for people who have experience of the game.

I never thought this post would get so many replies. during this time I have had time to play more and find that the unbalance issues in this game make it not fun to play anymore. I for the most part have stopped playing all together until a mod or patch comes out that balances the gameplay. I am a neutral Force player, meaning i use the forces that both light and dark have access to, but I am getting really tired of using cheap tactics to win games and have others use even cheaper tactics to win against me. I have played a lot and can tell you that the players who are skilled and player other skilled players turn it into a kick and pull fest with other cheap moves thrown in for finishers. for instance the saberthrow and force pull move that cannot be blocked. (ultimate cheese) think of lightning only worse. try go get close to your opponent with 30 health left and this is automatic death everytime. here are a list of cheese moves for you pleasure. I am told by jedi menace that a patch is being beta tested so we shall see what it brings.

 

1. pull\push then backstab

2. speed, mindtrick, then backstab

3. throw saber, then force pull for a non blockable hit.

4. force pull and then hit jump twice.

5. force pull and then turn 90 degrees quickly and hit jump once.

6. roll toward opponent, then force pull, backstab

7. make a skin with eyes on its ass so no one can accuse you of ass fighting

8. wait on the high ledge in the duel hanger and when your opponent jumps up after you (depleting his force) force pull him and backstab him

9. on the rockledge map with the power ups. only play with lightning. grab powerup if opponent doesnt have absorb and kill him without waiting for force to regenerate. if they have absorb, wait till they get low on force power and grab powerup and then lightning. the power ups, unbalance that map so bad!

10. if you hear someone heal themselves during a match, just force pull and backstab, heal uses so much force power now that you can safely bet they dont have enough force Power left to block a pull.

11. not sure if all servers have this, but force absorb will emit a sound similar to when sight when being used. wait for this tone to end and then force pull and backstab.

12. stand still with force protect on and then when someone comes up to hack you, backstab them.

13. use mindtrick and get on the side of your opponent, if he starts to run, then force pull him to the ground and backstab him. this works really good with force speed. if they have force sight, just use one of the many cheap moves above.

14. I think its the jedi training grounds map. where your on a ledge fighting and theres a big drop down below. make sure you push you opponent to the bottom for 30 points of instant damage, they wont expect it and if you want bonus points.... pull him then backick, then push, that will be 50 points of damage right there : )... if you hear the bastard heal after that, jump down and roll, your damage will be minimal and he will be low on force power

 

anyone got any other cheap duel moves? Don't get me wrong. I love the game, but I can see how much better it could be and I bet a lot of mod makers are seeing that too.
