Thnx
Macbeth2k1
Star Wars Tales 14. A lot of people didn't like the way Aayla was characterized and try to wish it away as an "infinity". But, she's in it, so I've got it. I'm still in the "I'll take what I can get" camp at the moment. Vos shows up VERY briefly in Emissaries to Malistare and gives Mace a hand during a fight in Nar Shadaa.
AgentSmith
leXX, that list is pretty complete, though as Random said Aayla appears in "Star Wars Tales #14", the "Tides of Terror" story. (The art is good but the characterization is a bit off indeed.) Quinlan Vos further briefly appears in "Emissaries to Malastare" and also in the story arc "Infinity's End" (which hasn't been bundled into a TPB yet). Bundling everything Aayla & Quinlan have been in it should give this list: - Dark Horse "Star Wars: Emissaries to Malastare" comic (Quinlan) - Dark Horse "Star Wars: Twilight" comic (Aayla & Quinlan) - Dark Horse "Star Wars: Infinity's End" comic (Quinlan) - Dark Horse "Star Wars: Darkness" comic (Aayla & Quinlan) - Dark Horse "Star Wars: The Stark Hyperspace War" comic (Aayla) - Dark Horse "Star Wars: Rite of Passage" comic (Aayla & Quinlan) - Star Wars Insider #62 magazine (Aayla cover) - Dark Horse "Star Wars: Tales #14 - Tides of Terror" comic (Aayla) - Dark Horse "Star Wars: Republic #49 - Sacrifice" comic (Aayla & Quinlan) - Dark Horse "Star Wars: Republic #50 - Attack on Kamino -Brothers in Arms" comic (Aayla & Quinlan) - Dark Horse "Star Wars: Jedi - Mace Windu" comic (Quinlan) - Star Wars Insider #66 magazine - "Elusion, Illusion" (by Michael A. Stackpole) - Dark Horse "Star Wars: Jedi - Shaak Ti" comic TBR (Quinlan) - Dark Horse "Star Wars: Republic #54" comic TBR (Quinlan) - Dark Horse "Star Wars: Jedi - Aayla Secura" comic TBR (Aayla) There's also some Insider issues with related art and previews from the comics, would you like those references too? (Nice Khaleen avatar btw. )

AgentSmith
leXX, nice "Republic #54" wallpaper! That cover art by Jan Duursema is beautiful isn't it? (The coloring for it was done by Joe Wayne and it really brings Jan's great art out even more.) Random, no problem, I myself will orer them if I cannot attend the 'Autographica' con in the UK, though I hope I can visit Amy there and get them in person. Been a while since I met up with Amy and having them signed in person is always more fun.

leXX
Wow, now that you mention it! Isn't she the girl in The Fast and The Furious? She is gonna be in Resident Evil 2 or something too.
AgentSmith
Random, that's a very good observation! Khaleen from "Star Wars Republic" does seem to resemble Michelle Rodriguez! Khaleen is a character designed by Jan Duursema and John Ostrander for "Star Wars", so I'm not sure if she's inspired on Michelle Rodriguez, but it is possible. I posted at Jan Duursema's theforce.net thread to ask about it. Wonder what she'll say. leXX, wasn't Michelle Rodriguez' character shot (and infected by the 'zombie' virus) in "Resident Evil"? Didn't know there'd be a sequel, sounds cool.
leXX
I think I read somewhere there was going to be a sequel, of course I could be wrong.

Macbeth2k1
They sure need a sequal, I loved RE. She was bitten several times by zombies and infected. There's a great scene where she's out of reach above the zombies and squeezing blood from her wounds to taunt them. Since it's been out for so long here's some spoiler info... She became a zombie at the end and killed by the 'hero'. I don't see how she'd be in the second movie. Unless she played a twin sister or somehow brought back as a resurected zombie (zombie-zombie?). I never played the games very far, so I don't know what happend in the later ones. She was also in that skidmark Blue Crush, but we won't hold that against her And a few others I've also never seen. AgentSmith
Cool that there will be a "Resident Evil 2" and with Michelle Rodriguez, the first one was very good, I saw it recently as matter of fact. Looking forward to the sequel!
AgentSmith
I asked comic artist and creator of Khaleen's character, Jan Duursema over at theforce.net about the apparent resemblance between Khaleen and Michelle Rodriguez. Here's what Jan kindly replied, I quote: "Oh my gosh! What an uncanny resemblence! Nope, I'd never heard of Michelle Rodrigez before you posted this. I was thinking of her 'type' when I developed the look for Khaleen though. She would make a great Khaleen--don't you think? Cool!" Thanks for the feedback Jan! Cool that it's such a coincidence don't you guys think?
leXX
I do indeed. I just think Khaleen is great. After reading Republic #49, she stuck in my mind and I wanted to know more about her. I like her style so to speak. I love her outfit and purple hair, and the tatoo's and make-up are awesome. Jan certainly pencilled her beautifully. She also seems so innocent, even being a thief. There is just a charming vulnerability about her. Of course, the fact that she is in love with Quinlan also adds to it all. I can't wait to see her in action again in Republic #54. AgentSmith
I agree leXX, Khaleen's a great new character addition and also as a non-Jedi character. Jan stated "Republic #54" will rock and be full of surprises, so I'm curious to see what they have in store for us with Quinlan and Khaleen! AgentSmith
Silver Bullet Comics is having a "Star Wars Saturdays at Silver Bullet Comics" feature and on April, 19 they published this great interview, "A Conversation with John Ostrander and Jan Duursema". It's a great interview with comic artist Jan Duursema and writer John Ostrander, about Star Wars, the comics, the Clone Wars, the Jedi and ... Aayla Secura. Head there and check it out, it's worth it! I quote: "JOZIC: Was it a real treat for you guys to see Aayla Secura, a character you created, make an appearance in Episode II? OSTRANDER: Big time! Very, very cool! DUURSEMA: How about creative thrill of a lifetime? When Chris Cerasi at LFL told me about Aayla's appearance in Episode II as I was finishing up the pencils on the Attack of the Clones adaptation, I was pretty sure I was dreaming. Then I got the photo reference for the character and was blown away with how beautiful she looked and how amazing the costume looked. I met Amy Allen, who plays Aayla, at Celebration II before I saw Episode II. We immediately hit it off and had a million things to talk about. And we both got to see the Aayla action figure being created right there at C2!"
AgentSmith
For those of you who are interested, Quinlan Vos (Aayla's former Jedi Master) will appear in "Star Wars: Jedi - Shaak Ti", tentatively scheduled for release next week. The current "Star Wars Insider", issue #67 has a nice featurette on "Star Wars: Jedi - Shaak Ti" with some beautiful pencil art renderings of Shaak Ti and Quinlan. It also mentions the upcoming "Star Wars: Jedi - Aayla Secura" issue.

leXX
The pictures arn't working atm, but $300!!! AgentSmith - I have that Insider, I got #66 & #67 in one auction from ebay. The illustrations are great. I wasn't going to get Jedi - Shaak Ti, but after reading that and seeing the wonderful artwork, I've changed my mind.

AgentSmith
Random, that looks like a great Aayla Secura/Adi Gallia lightsaber prop replica, seems very accurate and well machined. Congratulations on winning that auction and getting such a great item! (Such a prop replica is a bit out of my budget though.) leXX, glad you got your "Star Wars Insider" issues, I'm sure "Star Wars: Jedi - Shaak Ti" will be worth it. Did you also enjoy the "Elusion, Illusion" Aayla Secura story by M.A. Stackpole? Thanks for posting that great picture of Orn Free Taa and Pampy, very cool. Macbeth2k1
Eh, its no big thing. You just gotta deside "this is what I want" and set a little asside each paycheck. Now is the really hard part. I have to wait for the dang thing to be delivered. I've also managed to score one of her trading cards and once I get that, send it off for an autograph. Then make a display case for it. work to do, work to do...
AgentSmith
Random, do you mean the Aayla Secura TGC card from the Sith Rising TGC game or the latest Wizards Aayla Secura promo postcard from the GAMA Trade show in Las Vegas? In any case you can send that to Amy's PO Box as on Amy's official website. I'm sure she'll enjoy seeing some of your fanart, you can always include a printout if you like. If I'd known, you could have requested one, I'd have purchased and brought it from visiting Amy at last weekends Autographica con. It was an awesome con and great to see Amy again, I'll try and post some photos later on.
