Hannibal Posted May 22, 2002 Posted May 22, 2002 The scenese with 3po at the end added nothing. R2 did a litttle something. But 3po was there just for laughs. It gets dangerous when you write a character just for laughs and not to advance the story. I still enjoyed the movie.c3;)

Honestly, if it had been jar jar instead, I probably would have hurled a large object at the screen. I think Lucas thought he need to use 3PO for comic effect a bit more, with CGI capabilities now. He was okay really.

RichDiesal Posted May 23, 2002 Posted May 23, 2002 It was absolutely great seeing the comedic duo back in action... remember, Star Wars is an epic tale, and there are always characters there purely for comic relief in epics. What pissed me personally off about Jar Jar was that he was a comedic character and it just didn't seem like he was really supposed to be. He just...was.

Nawara Ven Posted May 25, 2002 Posted May 25, 2002 Episodes 4-6 had no Jar Jar, instead they had C-3P0 and R2-D2. Nobody bats an eye when the comic relief is robots. But make it a frog-man and George Lucas is Satan. I've never understood why Jar Jar is automatically stupid and childish when Threepio and Artoo are just as foolish in 1-4-5-6...
