Reading through the posts, i see a lot of complaints. This bothers me. You all come here, presumably because you like star wars or related things, and bitch like hell.

Well, not all of you but enough of you.

I love Star Wars, i enjoyed every film, even TPM, because IT'S STAR WARS. Not watered down tripe like star trek or star-gate. It's the coolest story i've ever seen or read.

Sure it has it's flaws, as does any set of films, but they're pretty small compared to over all greatness of the series. It's cool to discuss stuff about the films and say this part was good because but this part lacked something and etc, but don't go on obessesing about your pet peeves.

So before you start whinning and saying Ep 2 sucked (which it sure as hell didn't. It was excellent) and picking at it and complaining things weren't as you would have them, consider why you're here, why you went to see the film.

If you have that big a problem with Star Wars even though you say you're a fan,

Quit bitching and bugger off! Let the actuall fans have thier place to talk.

Hope i haven't offended anyone too much, but that needed to be said. :deathii:

Your right. Everyone critisises the films, saying how flawed and crap the new films are compared to the originals, but you all went to see the film-most of you more than once! I bet you think it's really bad, don't you. Why did you go and see it? Exactly, because it's Star Wars!

Nuff said...

But what the hell else are we gonna talk about.

We're hardcore starwars fans. We bitch, it's what we do.

Positive things aren't that interesting. Let us nit pick all we want, where's the harm. We still love starwars and all the movies, we're just compelled to point out the flaws.

You quite your bitching about our bitching. Let us bitch in peace.

Or find something really interesting to distract all out attention for awhile.

I was trying to reason with you and make a point. You just consider it an excuse to complain more. As i stated, discussing flaws is fine, but some, like yourself go on and on and on.

YOU infinity wrote a whole ****ing essay about your dislike of dooku! that is far beyond constructive critisism.

I'm asking people to consider what they're saying when they go ranting about films many others love on a forum dedicated to said films. I'm sure you can find an anti-Star Wars forum out there somewhere. Go there to bitch.

what the hell is wrong with star trek? it was around before SW was, at least the publics knowing about it. watered down? gimme a break. yes, you like your nice little eye-candy movie. just because you like it doesn't mean that everyone has to. and star trek is not the devil; just another idea. there are hundreds of things to do, and if all you can do is bug people about sharing their thoughts, do something else. besides, no one is forcing you to read their posts.

Yes, but unless you've noticed, this s not actually a Star Trek forum. Therefore, you will get people who are all for SW, but as a rival ST is, they are against it. I'm not saying Star Tek is bad, but I don't think that topic will be quite so welcomed with others...

Hehe, if I *must* add more fuel to the flame:

Startrek is pathetic: There is NO plot whatsoevah in the series, they just walk around a ship and discuss things, beam down on a planet, encounter strange weird aliens that look JUST like humans and beam back up again.

Their costumes look.... well, I won't get into that...

Their so-called technology isn't explained in any way, they just babble off some fancy names without thought.

It is even more corny than starwars and.... *GASP*... They even manages to include some moral pointers in nearly every damn episode...

It hasn't got the great story of starwars, the beautiful pictures of starwars, the fantastic music of starwars or the wonderful DIVERSE aliens of starwars.

BUT, it's got *** costumes. I'll give it that.

Go on, flame me, you know you want to...

I know exactly what you mean. I was thinking about this the other day. Every single alien species or race they come into contact with has two eyes, two arms, two legs, ears, a nose and a slightly disfigured face. What is up with that. The games are a bit tedious aswell. Except for Elite Force, that rocks!!!:D :D :D

Okay, now im going to write something which will even contradict starwars:

What is the chance that life on other planets *remotely* resembles us?

This is what many scientists ponder about, and something that startrek does not. Now, i realise that the startrek series have somewhat tight budget and can't go overboard on special fx like starwars, and that starwars, despite its budget can't create nonhumanoids even if lucas wanted to.

To sum it up:

Startrek and starwars have a huge amount of "humanoid" aliens, but startrek takes the first place, hands down. But I personally dont feel that startrek should even *try* to include aliens, if they make them that silly... I mean, a make-up difference or a slightly altered mindset doesn't constitute a new race, so don't even try...

It looks so f***** stupid, especially that blue punk "chef" on enterprise, he must the closest thing startrek comes to jar jar....

The deal with Star Wars is that humans have appearantly been all around space for thousands upon thousands of years... the Republic has been around for a thousand generations, 25,000 and it stands to reason that people were travelling around thousands of years before that because it takes a great deal of time to create a galaxy-wide government, especially when there are no relations between any of the worlds before that (the Empire was the Republic, so it already had all of the worlds under its thumb).

So, humans have been travelling around so long, settling on so many different planets that they've adapted to those worlds in multiple worlds. All of the humanoid aliens in Star Wars might have originated from a single space-roaming species. There are at least four humanoid species in Star Wars that have lekku (head tails--it appears to be a more common trait among SW humanoids than having none). While in Star Trek, they've only had faster-than-light travel for what? Four hundred years? And most of these species humans have never even come into contact with.

Star Trek's plot is very simple. It's about Captain James T. Kirk sowing his seed all over the universe, LOL.

On the SW critique, I agree with Vicious. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and it can certainly be said that CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is what paves the path of improvement. However, crude, neanderthalic slandersous statements like I have seen in this forum(IT SUCKED A**, IT WAS F**KED UP, EPISODE 2 WAS STUPID)make me wonder why these people are even here.

To those people I say this. Write a script, get a camera, and make your own epic, since you think so little of George Lucas' work. $0.02.

yes i know i know, this isn't a star trek forum, but i have to defend it =) think about it. #1. they are on a starship, part of a huge organization thingy, and they are wearing uniforms. hmm, now if aliens made a movie about a humanoid army, and they looked like the US military and they had UNIFORMS... it's just going to be that way. in SW, everyone isn't a jedi, everyone isn't an ambassador either. (spelling...?) #2. fixed budget. for a weekly (biweekly, triweekly) tv show, you can't have a movie's budget. or the time budget. it just can't be done. and, since the origional ST was before our current technology, we couldn't make every alien different. they just couldn't. so, they had humans play the parts of aliens... actors. interesting thought, no? #3. SW has it's fans, ST has it's fans, it's the difference between Harry Pothead and other magician books. if you want to flame something, go for something like those stupid teletubbies or whatever. they NEED a kick in the ass...

oh, the plot. it's the difference between a 100 page book and a series of 9 1000 page books. they have more time during the season to do things, it not all shoot 'em up action, that too would get a bit tedious. the plots have storylines as well, it's not just a constant debriefing of tactical information. and i haven't tried the games =) and *sigh* yes LOTR was truly wonderful except, i think, for liv tyler, and i am STILL a SW fan. just not quite these movies...

i seem to remember some starwars games not quite making it either... battle for naboo, and many others... the only ones i recall going well were jedi knight II and rogue squadron, pod racing did ok i suppose... but that's just another thing that came to mind... *sigh* flame away, not like i can stop you...

i get pissed when fans say lucas screwed up and should now kill himself etc.

STARWARS IS HIS CREATION

HE MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN SMALLER IDEAS (VADERS MASK) FROM DIFFERENT PLACES

BUT THE STORY IS HIS!

and for the most part was written before msot of us were even born

* the story was written in the 70's all episodes *

he is now just making it a script

and film sheet
