Aayla Secura

Darn, I'd been E-mailing starwars.com to put stuff on the site about Aayla and now they didn't while I wasn't looking! :( I checked it last night again and nothing and now boom explosion of info and good pics. But that's cool. :D

Hey spacermonkey? If anything I said sounded like a bad critic or so I apologize man. I just wanted to thank you and all for doing such a great job (which I've said from the start because it is a great model/skin), thanks a lot too for sharing it with us. I hope I haven't been too impatient sounding but imho the current model/skin is the greatest. :D:thumbsup:

Maybe I was wrong to compare it to the movie Aayla Secura/Amy Allen. What's funny though is that now Amy Allen portrayed her in EP II the drawings of Aayla Secura for the comics have slightly changed to look more like Amy's Aayla. :p

But spacermonkey, power to you for this great skin! Muchos gracias! :D You da man. :)

Off course aayla/Amy is da babe. :D *drool*

What to use to judge a skin? I would start with using good-sense.

drjimmy515, I respect constructive criticism, and I share some of the critics to a certain extent(mainly because I didn't have time to verify ingame). I just think your comment on the eyes and checkbones was useless and innacurate. You want to make a mod with slowmo closeups? You notice that there is a slight crookedness? You can fix the eye! A 5 years can do that. For the rest of the general population, it's going to be fine, don't worry for them. Don't take it personal, but you didn't understand my whole point. I have a different vision on constructive crit, and seriously, the part about the eye elludes me. But that is me, it's my personal opinion on this. We can argue for ages, we evidently disagree on this part, that is fair, peace to you.

Alien_JL, nice work and all you did there but I do feel that compared to the original model/skin the chin is more off now. :( It looks less like Aayla Secura/Amy Allen.

But it's a great level of detail and all, I don't want to give negative criticism, just my opinion when I look at Aayla Secura/Amy Allen's pics and compare them to your 'update'.

But nice work. :)

Alien, the last link you have given about the download of the new aalya skin doesn't work. Is there another way to download it. This update seems to be very nice.

Thx and May the Force be with You.

A + all...

Alien_JL, you can check these shots of Amy Allen as Aayla Secura out to get an idea how her abdomen and facial traits are. (Nice pics, good quality too. :) )

You cant still see it in some pics like the promo shot. It just has a slightly odd structure. You mainly only see it on the frontal shots. The bridge of the nose is a bit wider than most people.

Even in this one from a distance you can see its kinda wide http://www.starwars.com/episode-ii/feature/20020618/img/7_sm.jpg I am fine with his reworking of the skin the way it is. Its great.:)

Looks fine to me. Amy has a fairly straight nose though maybe it's that what make you think it's odd.

Plus the pictures up in the starwars.com 'From EU to Episode II : Aayla Secura' feature of Amy rather look like they were made with either professionel equipment or were lightly retouched because I have other pictures of her at Celebration II (some made by fans) and she looks perfectly normal and 'hubba hubba' in those. Certainly her nose looks fine when you see pictures of her with Shannon Baksa, Jan Duursema or Michonne Bourriague.

But imho, she's even hotter and sexier in her Aayla Secura makeup and outfit than irl.(Which is already considerable.) :D;):p

With all due respect to spacermonkey, as this is his model and he did the Aayla skin,... which I liked. I would have rather seen a movie accurate skin. I'm not into the SW comics very much, and have read very few of the books. I prefer to stick to the movies primarily. As such, I also started a while ago to make a movie version. I didn't get very far though. All I did was some work on the face. Seeing ALIEN's work prompted me to post what little I've done,...

Hap, what program do you use and do you do it with a mouse? I'd like to get serious about skinning, but I can't seem to keep a steady hand with this mouse, plus I don't have any sort of dedicated drawing program, just photoshop, which is great for highlighting and shadowing though.

Intrepid: I personally use Photoshop as well for all my skinning needs, and typically use either a mouse or the touchpad on my laptop. One of these years I want to get a drawing tablet, some day when it fits in my budget :) Anyway... Photoshop is just fine for drawing, and even with just a mouse, I think I do a pretty good job at skinning, and if I can do it, anyone can :)

I'm stricly use Micrografx Picture Publisher 7. I know everyone claims that Photoshop is the best, but from my experience I'd have to disagree. I'm no expert in photoshop, but when I've tried it, I always found that the interface was rather clumsy and difficult to use for even the most minor of things. The only real advantage, other than some of the effects that can be done with photoshop, is the fact that it can save images in layers. McrgfxPP can't do that, once you put it on the image, it's there.

And I'm just using a regular mouse, I've been thinking about picking up an optical mouse. It get's pretty annoying when you're woking on something then your mouse gets stuck.
