I just heard that they cloned Darth Maul :darth: and that he will reappear in Ep3 as a member of the sith council next to Dooku, Darth Xiom, some other dark dude which name I forgot and vader. Later in the movie Vader:vadar: and Palpy:emperor: will fight Darth xio(who's btw the hottest chick i the galaxy), darth maul and 2 other sith members :lsduel: (not Dooku). It's not a fact but a roumor that had been going on after a interview with mr. lucas three weeks ago. Wouldn't that be awesome? Personally, I hope that this will be the case, especially seing vader in his armor fighting some dark jedis that wanted to betray palpy. EP3 is going to be huge and much darker than any other sw. What is known for a fact is that mace is going to die in a duel with 2 dark lords while Sacrificing himself for pregnant padme, yoda:yodaball: and ob1:aobi:. I think that's all I know, ... WAIT,... that other dude,...darth bane or something like is going to be seen for the first time. He's even older than yoda!!!!!!!!

I heard that rumor like 2 years ago! And since it's so old most likely nothing of it is going to happen. Except for the fact that many, if not all Jedi will die in that movie. Including one of my favorite new-Ep2-Jedi-characters: Kit Fisto!

20 years ago we found out only 4 jedi survive:

2 light, obi-wan and yoda

2 dark, palpatine and anakin

+2 new, luke and leia skyrunner(note the pun that was funny, see it was suposed to be skyWALKER but i put skyRUNNER, the opposite, funny:p )

Well... they might not all die. Suposedly just before A New Hope, a number surviving members of the jedi counsel took off for parts unknown. It's specualted that they were heading for the galactic core. They left behind only enough Jedi (yoda and obie-one) to balance the Sith (Vader and Sidious). Thus, the whole proficy of "bringing balance to the force".

Maul is very unlikely to return. Originaly he was not cut inhalf by Obi. He was just stabbed and fell down the shaft. Apparently the people who saw the screening all felt that he was going to come back (and Lucas didn't want that), so changed it.

Also, it's specualted that Darth Bane was (will be?) killed on Dagoba by Yoda at the location of the dark tree. Bane was so powerful that his energy refused to re-join the force. Yoda used this to hide from the Sith since the dark power nutralized his light force "signature".

Just regurgetation some bits and pieces of Jedi lore, I've picked up (and I feel like such a geek!!).

Well... it's pretty obvious that most of the Jedi will die in (or shortly after Episode 3).

Who knows about Maul, when/how Anakin "turns", etc. Those are all still up in the air while George Lucas figures it out.

According to Expanded Universe (yes I know it's not canon),

During those times Yoda figured in stopping a swath of destruction cut by Dark Jedi from Bpfassh. One of these dark siders had gotten as far as Dagobah, were Yoda bested him in direct confrontation. The Bpfasshi Jedi died, his dark Force absorbing into and twisting a nearby tree -- forming a dark side nexus. It is believed that Yoda chose Dagobah as his hiding place due to the dark side energies emanating from the tree. From a distance, Force-users like the Emperor would not detect Yoda since the master's bright light side presence would be canceled by the Bpfasshi dark side presence.

Darth Bane was not (at least from any source that I've seen) from Bpfassh, so it was not him who Yoda faced on Dagobah. I heard somewhere that Darth Bane was the master of Sidious, before he died. Whether or not he is still alive during Episode I/II, is something only Lucas could probably answer.

I believe the first part of the story will focus on Anakin's relationships w/ Padme and Obi-Wan, and how those relationships change while the Clone War tears apart the galaxy. Then "THE fight" w/ Anakin challenging Obi-Wan. During (or shortly after this fight), Anakin gets gravely wounded, and only survives afterwards by using his breath mask ( :vader: ) and prosthetics. The pregnancy/birth of the twins will be a big plot event, and I think they will show how the remaining Jedi hide them from Anakin and Sidious.

Mes deux centimes....

No, it won't be Darth Bane, since he died Thousands of years before--he was the first Sith to start the rule of 2. It could be one of those Dark Jedi Fellows though--the aforementioned 20. If GL actually did that Dagobah fight with a Dark Jedi (which is extrodinarily unlikely), it would completely redeem his EU bashing up until now, IMO

Also, has anyone pointed out that many of the Jedi have already been slaughtered (Arena fight) and that many more will die in the Clone Wars? Anakin is kind of a mop up effort...

Well, from my sources in the SW EU world, Darth Bane was the one who created the "master and apprentice" rule for the Sith, after all the infighting by the massed Sith. This occured approx 1,000 years ago, basically when Windu states that the Sith have been extinct for a 1,000 years in Episode 1.

IF Bane is Sidious' master, then that means the Force is able to lengthen ones life, when all signs from Episode 2 show that someone strong in the Dark side of the Force ages quicker. We see that Yoda can live for 900 years, but he was a light side master.

And as for the name Skyrunner, something like this is used in the EU for the upcoming game Knights of the Old Republic...

I wouldn't worry too much about this being a spoiler... I kinda doubt that Maul will ever be seen again in the StarWars universe.

I'm glad of that too. Don't get me wrong, I really dug the character. He added a whole new dimention to the Sith. It would have been nice if they had cut the length of the pod race in half and used that time to explore Maul's character and the background of the Sith itself!

However, I would rather see something new in the next flick. Show me a Sith Witch! Bring on some backstory about Dark Sidious!

No he wasn't! Darth Bane was the only remaining Sith after they all killed each other in a huge power struggle. He invented the only 2 sith rule - a master & an apprentice and that once the apprentice was powerful enough he would kill his master and take his own apprentice. This all happened a millenia ago - Darth Bane was killed by his apprentice. Sidious is nowhere near that old because the Dark Side consumes you if you ge too powerful hence he is a rotting walking corpse in ROTJ!

I guess I'll say it for everybody......

GEEKS!!!!!!!!!

That being said I'm sure we can all agree that the next movie will be not only really cool, but also highly lame. Just look at the last 2 movies out, which I liked both but hated both also.
