I'm having a blonde moment...

All righty.. seems like no one really knows what happened to Master Sifo-Dyas... We DO however know that he existed.... So this is my guess.... Sifo-Dyas died/was killed at the end of the Phantom Menace, possibly as one of Dooku's first Sith missions, because we know he became the apprentice after Maul died... Dooku became Tyranous and probably told the Kaminoans that he was Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas. I say that Dooku probably placed the order because a) Fett said that he was hired by Tyranous (who is Dooku) and b) Palpatine probably rarely leaves Coruscant due to his involvment with the Senate. So Sifo-Dyas is most likely just a random Jedi Master who was on the council and was close to death or perhaps there was a motive for his death... But regardless, I think that Dooku/Tyranous placed the order under Sifo-Dyas' name... After all, the Kaminoans probably don't check up on the Jedi Council seeing as how they didn't know that Sifo-Dyas was dead...

OK- so Sifadias (sorry I'm not really in the mood for spell checking names- I feel like crap so forgive me) had nothing to do with the dark side or anything, he just might have gotten killed or died. That probably makes sense, coz if Dooku said he placed the order, then it woulda been easier to track him or something?

How did Sideous/Palpatine know they were gonna need a clone army? This is where I get confused (again forgive the poor Aussie girl with blonde moments)

OK, from where I've been sitting in the cinema (all 5times) are Sideous and Dooku on both sides? Obviously on the side of the clones since it was them who set it up and ordered the clones, but what did the whole droids and the trade federation have to do with anything? They were obviously there to get systems of the republic to get out of the republic and join the trade federation- which Dooku was helping them out with, so my question is did Sideous set this whole thing up aaaaaaaaaaaages ago, probably even before Maul was killed (although didn't put it into action until after Dooku became the apprentice) in the plan it would all come to a head and destroy the republic once and for all?

Ya gotta realize that Palpatine is a sneaky little bastard. He seems all nice and comely in the prequels so far, but lets not forget the wrinkled old wretch that he is in the originals. My theory (as well as many other people I'm sure) is that Darth Sidious is the same person as Palpatine. Sidious is his Sith persona, and Palpatine is his little diplomat identity. He and Dooku setup the whole clonetrooper thing. Because of the similarity in appearance between the clones and stormtroopers, it is obvious that this is the army he needs to set up his Empire. At this point though he doesn't have direct control of the republic, the senate is still mainly in control. So he needs the senate to approve the army. They're not just gonna say "hey, ok! here ya go take control of a huge army have fun with it!" So he needed to give them a conflict and make them feel endangered, and that if the republic were to survive it would need to utelize an army of it's own. So he sent Dooku off to spearhead this whole resistance thing with the Trade Federation and those other worlds. Palpatine/Sidious killed two birds with one stone through this maneuver. Not only did he gain himself an army, but he also gained himself military dictatorship for as long as this war went on.

Well said, I think from now on when people bring this matter up, I'm just going to quote you. Thanks.

If this has happened isn't possible that Sifo-Dyas is Qui-Gon. Just a thought that came to me after I considered that:

1. Qui-Gon was the appentice of Dooku

2. He did not become one with the force after his death

I believe that the name Qui-Gon will play a significant role in EpIII. Something like I am your father / I have a sister???
