Could the force be real?

That partly debunks a experience when I was 5. Still freshly hooked on Star Wars and using some already known parts of theories, I tried to lift up a can with the "force". After 30 minutes, I could've sworn I heard a rattle. Then again I could've heard my mom's cooking. But when I lifted my hand again, I heard the damn rattle again!

Big coincidence?

I'm gonna say yes.

Anyway, I cant say the force doesnt exist, but there is no evidence to support it does, so I'm going to assume it doesnt. Humans can do amazing things, though. I read in the paper that a kid and his mom were involved in a serious car accident, where thier Taurus flipped over. The mother got caught on the door, and the kid moved the car, and got her out. It was pretty much impossible for a kid of 7 to do that, but there were witnesses. There was a study, and it was believed something in the kid's brain was triggered due to extreme stress. The kid didnt even remeber the car accident afterwards.

I had a similar instance when I was 10. My parents were both out, and it was raining outside. Before my dad left, he had forgot to put his motorcycle in the garage. I went out and decided to move it for him. You can imagine as soon as I got it off the kick stand it fell over, and it almost crushed me as I fell over. I got one of those moments when you think, "this cant be real, becuase there is no way any one person can be this f*cked". Then I just got up, grabbed the handlebars, and hefted a 450 pound motorcycle over, and put it on its kickstand. I'm not an especially strong guy, so that scared the hell out of me.

I believe the mind is infinately more complex than we are aware of, and when its needed for personal survival, some of its power is unleashed.

Much as I hate to burst anyone's bubble, it's a common myth that we as humans use (fill in percentage less than 100) of our brains. Actually we use the whole thing. I can post links to support that later (to reiterate what was said by others).

The myth comes from the fact that we don't use our entire brain all of the time. Only certain portions are active at any given time, though we do use the entire thing.

okay... here's another thought... the human body is made up of atoms, which contain electrons. The human brain also sends electronic pulses to tell your body to do things. Well, what if your brain could emit elctronic pulses to control your body's electrons, then... theoretically, could you not move things with your mind? (by changing charges, and following the rule of opposites attract.)

or create lightning bolts?

Another theory... which also involves Ki is adrenaline. This extreme power which martial arts masters exhibit may simply come from adrenaline. Adrenaline is an actual horomone your body creates to temporarily boost your sensory awareness, strength and speed. Yelling (as martial artists often do) helps to bring out adrenaline in your body. If you could willingly tell your body to secrete adrenaline, you could theoretically, run faster than normal, or jump higher, or see fast moving objects more easily.

note: using adrenaline leaves the human body feeling drained, which is completley natural.

wow... i'm nuts...

well i'm going to keep tossing ideas out there as they come to me.

there are a lot of fans because star wars is exciting.

I especially liked the concept of weaving through a swarm of TIE fighters with my wingmen as we try to vape a star destroyer.

X-wing.... good times....

maybe what ancient chinese and japanese monks tapped into centuries ago to develop martial arts and meditation and junk like that is the force.

maybe the japanese use the force without thinking about it when they build and repair delicate, complex, and intricate electronics and circuitry.

i remember this one movie with harlan williams where he goes to mars with some other people. right near the end one of his crewmates is stuck under the land rover or something. he tells his friend to call him mommy and cry out for help. the cry of a child in need is supposed to boost the mother's strength a whole bunch.

****, i need to go to bed...

Maybe what we know as the force is not real. Though I have to believe that some aspects of the force could be a reality. Though I may not have the ability to pull an object over to myself, I may have other aspects of the force that we commonly don't associate with the force. ............ NOTE. The rest of my arguement fell apart here. I forgot what I was going to say. I think what I already said can stand on it's own though.

GreenJediGrinch, that is like saying if anybody thinks that Christianity exists, they are Burger King rejects. They both have the same amount of scientific proof, but it's just that Christianity is more widely believed.
