Khyron Posted June 11, 2002 Posted June 11, 2002 I try to make a bevel, endcap, inverted bevel or a inverted endcap and the whole program freezes up on me. Anyone have a idea what i'm doing wrong or is this a bug?
Xcom Posted June 12, 2002 Posted June 12, 2002 This happens sometimes. Since it doesn't happen always and not to everbody, I'd say this has to do with the GFX card or something. Maybe drivers update will fix it for you. Or you may wanna try getting GTK Radiant instead of JK2radiant. http://www.qeradiant.com
Master Shawn Posted June 12, 2002 Posted June 12, 2002 First off, do you have a brush made prior to selecting the bevel/endcap command? If not, theres your problem.
Khyron Posted June 14, 2002 Author Posted June 14, 2002 I have made it many different ways and it still does the same lock up. So its not that thanks though
Khyron Posted June 14, 2002 Author Posted June 14, 2002 This also is installed on two different computer and still doesn't work.
acdcfanbill Posted June 15, 2002 Posted June 15, 2002 well, i am extreemly new to editing, but i have been working on my first map in GtkRadiant (i picked it because i toyed with it when RtcW came out), and just for the heck of it i opened JK2Radiant, and i didnt like, if i was to recommend one to anyone, i would say go with GtK, thats my impression, i assure you though, its not worth much...
Takeoffyouhoser Posted June 15, 2002 Posted June 15, 2002 Hi there, I just had the same error when i made an archway on the entrance to my reactor control room. I used Jedi knight radiant until 5 minutes ago when i got gtk 1.2.9. and it cleared up the problem.... gtk also has a nicer interface the jk radiant too... only thing i do not like about it it only draws brushes that are near to you and you can't get a good look at the whole level...

Khyron Posted June 18, 2002 Author Posted June 18, 2002 there still is a problem. I can't do a inverted beveal i think its called. Hard to seal a level up if you can make a archway correctly. Am i missing something?
Manquesa Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 simple, just make a square brush, go to curves>bevel. Then while it's still selected go to curve>cap>inverted bevel.
Khyron Posted June 23, 2002 Author Posted June 23, 2002 I tried GTW but that still doesn't work like it should. A inverted Beveal works SOMEWHERE i know it does but not in these programs for some reason. I've tried it a few different ways. And it looks too dorky to make one myself since i can't get it to seal rigt without overlap.
RichDiesal Posted June 23, 2002 Posted June 23, 2002 Wait, so the program freezes up or you just don't like how it looks? If you just think it looks weird (and isn't matching up), make sure to make an even-sided bevel before you add caps... (i.e. go to the 2D View where you can see the curve itself and make sure that the sides are even to each other - 5x5 17x17, 50x50, etc - press Q to see its dimensions, btw)
