NemoX
I was wondering about Yoda's origin: What planet is he from? What race is he? Was he the first Jedi, if not who's apprentice was he? p.s. When is the Episode 2 DVD scheduled for release?

xX-Ender-Xx
I always thought Yoda was the very first Jedi and learned the force powers on his own....
Vestril
Was he the first Jedi, if not who's apprentice was he? No, he wasn't!! There were Jedi FAR into the SW past. I don't think anyone knows who his master was, but there were Jedi long before Yoda . We have no idea as to the rest of it, and we probably never will. Interesting questions about Yoda. As he would say, "An enigma, I am." He could not have been the first original Jedi, because the Jedi order has been in existence for ". . .over 1000 generations". Yoda was only 900 years old when he died. Even the official site is vague as to their origin. This is a mystery I shall endeavor to solve.
MotionMan
I read somewere that Yodas race is very rare in the galaxy. No one really knows what planet they are from. One thing that is known is that the force is strong with his race.

Jedi_Monk
Who in the world in Yaddle? Yaddle was a female member of Yoda's race who sat on the Jedi Council during Episode I. I think I heard somewhere that Yoda's race would be shown more in Episode III... don't know if that's a fact, though.

Don't know the truth behind this, but it's long been considered that the reason Yoda went to Dagobah was because a dark jedi of great power died there leaving concentrated dark side energy (an aura or however you wish to interpret it). In Empire, Yoda notes the concentration ("That place is strong with the dark side of the Force"). In order to escape the annihilation of the Jedi, Yoda used the presence of dark energy to obscure his presence. Kryllith
Wheelchairboy
to kryllith... if that is true, wouldn't it be cool if that is where Dukoo gets killed. it would be a nice tie in.

Actually, yeah, that would be pretty cool. I can't really see Dooku roaming around Dagobah in his fine clothes, but if he doesn't mind getting them mucked a little. I think according to the history it happened long before the current strife, but I could be wrong. Kryllith
ET Warrior
I had heard that the Dark Jedi that died on Degobah was killed by Yoda himself, which is how Yoda knew of it.......it would be interesting if they had Yoda face Dooku in a final confrontaion, and Yoda kills him........maybe, maybe not. JediMasterEd
The thing is, there have been Jedi vs. Sith on sseveral planets so, probably the reason why Yoda chose Degobah because it was probably a stage of a large Jedi Battle. Judging how long Palpatine lived though after he died (goto starwars.com for more info on what happened) the darkside must have lingered for a long time. He doesn't look like a frog anyway.
