Jasco Smlee
Just a quick post for anyone having problems getting the u104 mod 'unoffical patch' working on their dedicated server. Just sticking the pk3 file in your server's base directory will disconnect users who don't have the mod, if you are running a pure/no downloads server (well, it did for me anyway). To get around this, I created a new directory on the same level as my base directory (not inside it), and called it u104mod. Then I extracted the contents of the u104mod.pk3 file into that directory (using WinRar). Next, I edited my server shortcut to contain the text +set fs_game u104mod This runs u104 as a mod, and should allow any clients running the standard 1.03 client update to connect with no problems. els.DarkLord
Thanks for sharing this information, solved my issues with clients having to download my 'server side' MOD. Thanks.

ShadowHunter
Can this be done with FanMod 1.1?
KnightHawk420
It's uneccessary to extract the mod from it's pk3 in the u104mod directory. If you just put the pk3 in that directory and not extract it, it works just the same. You could extract it too, but functionally it makes no difference except your auto downloads of the mod may not work.

The point I was making is that you can get it to work server side *without* clients having to download it. I have downloads turned off, so clients without the pk3 get disconnected when they try to download it. Extracting the pk3 bypasses the pk3 check and lets *any* 1.03 client join the server. Sorry I have no experience of setting up mods on Linux, or of the FanMod.
KnightHawk420
Indeed I did miss the point.... And in that case you are perfectly correct.
MatrixCPA
Just as some additional information, you need to keep the files in the vm folder. Thus the files end up in u104mod/vm/ Fortunately, you can move these files around on the fly. I had them just in u104mod and during server operation moved them. During the next map load, I could see that the compiled size of the vms changed. Now for some more good news. They fixed the logging in u104 so that my admin bot may live again! Muahahaha. I'll set it up to run tonight and see what happens.

Presuming you are running the win32 dedicated server on Windows from a shortcut on your desktop, you right click on this shortcut, go to the shortcut tab and add the commands in there after the existing commands (should be the path to the jk2ded.exe file). If the existing commands are inside "" add the extra stuff outside them.
