teleguy Posted June 21, 2002 Share Posted June 21, 2002 All of you that are unhappy because only dedicated servers show up in the gamelist might interest that theres a way to (mind)trick the masterserver into thinking you are running a dedicated server. The only thing you have to do is creating a dedicated internetserver. This will drop you back to desktop. Wait for the "sending heartbeat" message, then click on quit. If you now create a non-dedicated server it should show up in the list. Normally this works as long as your IP doesn't change. If it does you have to create a dedicated server again. There was a mail from Raven posted in this forum some time ago that said they disabled the heartbeat in non-dedicated servers in order to reduce stress on the masterserver.
