It depends on how you look at it. ANH by itself has the best little mini-story, and was the best place to start the story off at (as far as the order in which they came out). It also has the originality factor of being THE movie called STAR WARS, which started everything. As far as action/cool effects of the movies as a whole, so far I'd say the best is AotC. But I think I'm going to have to wait to cast my vote until after Ep3.

Hey Master D did you know that StarWars was actually only going to be a comic? Yeah, but it was like so popular that he wanted to make a movie about it or something like that!

Well, yeah, TwinsOD, of course the lasers were worse, they edited them onto film. Like literally; they took film frames, and essentially painted (I know, it's a little more complicated than that) the laser effects onto them. Today, all you have to do is open up an image program, and with experience, you can create something as real as if it were sitting in front of you, however, in 1977 this was not the case.

Personally, I'd like to see an edition in which the same film is taken, and all the special effects are re-done with todays technology. But who knows...

I would have to go with ESB just because it's been my favorite scince I saw it like 14 years ago or something like that. although AOTC is a close second (because of yoda :yoda: and all the lightsabers). if AOTC hadn't spent so much time with anakin and padme :bored: it would be my favorite

I agree. It won't ever be a classic Star Wars movie, I don't think the new ones can live up to the same standards as the original trilogy. That's just my opinion anyway. Besides that, I love all the movies, but ESB is my personal favourite

I voted for Attack of the Clones... Yoda battle, great cinematography, great action, great story, great politics... great everything! Just when the romance between Anakin and Padme starts to get too long, they give you Natalie in a leather corset... Lucas is a genius :D

I was just watching TPM last night... it's not a bad movie... they just spend too much time on Tatooine. I mean, Tatooine is a great alien environment, but visually it's as boring as 'ell! Gimme Coruscant any day :D

D-Ley, don't you know that has already been done?

Anyway, ROTJ is the best, it's the only one with a real ending...

Empire is the best, its got good space fighting, a good and storyfull lightsaber duel. + new charaters are added, AND its lukes first lightsaber duel. I'd say the only good thing about phantom menice is the lightsaber fight was f-cking cool. dont think any other was better. Attack of the clones lightsaber fight pissed me off, special when dumb ass yoda had to come from no where to save fat lose anakin(j/m wahaha). if dooku wasnt a stupid bast and cheap hit obi in the arm and leg then im sure he would have lost. Anyway it really wasnt a good fight not even when yoda jumped around. I'm not ganna be like everyone else and say it was cool cause yoda came it wasnt cool even when yoda came it still sucked, i mean it was suprising at first but soon after it was dumb.

LoL, I can't believe that ewok-stuffed ROTJ was preferred over ANH in the poll.. ahh , anyway, my order has to be ESB, ANH, ROTJ, AoTC... TFM? is that even a star wars movie?? :rhett:

My fav was Wrath of Khan.

Ha ha ha.

No. Seriously. I'll wait till all six are out. Lucas has put them all on DVD and remastered the SE of the last 3.

2 years to wait for 14 hours of Star Wars on DVD. Then no more arguments about the best film, just one long film to fill out the day with.

Mmmmm.

Nice.
