WolfmanNCSU
Lots of people ask this a lot. He was a member of the Jedi council. He was killed about 10+ years before Obi Won visited the cloners. Some say that he is also palpatine (but I disagree). Most think that he was killed by a plan of the emperor and then used his name to create an army for the republic with the cloners. This may have been done by Dooku. Remember he is the one who recruited Jango.
Darth Joka'ar
Well, is Dooku ordered the Clone Army, why Dooku dont even know about it when the Clone was attacking the Seperatist?
obi
Syfo Dias=Dooku. Here is a really good theory. Dooku is the apprentice of Sidious(we know this already) And at the end of episode II, he says: "Good new master, the war has begun." and sidious says "excellent" So, Dooku traveled to Kamino under the name of Syfo Dias to order the clones, because his master wanted them. And we all know his master is Palpatine(sidious. They are the same person) When Dooku says "How could the Jedi come up with an army so quickly?" He is saying that to hide the fact he got the clones, and that this whole war was just to get Palpatine as emporer. Dooku is the head of the Confederacy. He wanted to start a rebellion of the republic so that It would go into war. Dooku and Palpatine are both bad guys. The Republic, and all of it's citizens and Jedi, Are suckers. The_One
That's the whole point - Dooku does know about it! Sidious/Palp and Dooku effectively have control of both sides - meaning they are in control of the clone wars. They can engineer the wars how they want. Dooku recruited Jango to get the Clones into full swing and also started on the Droid army... This is like the whole point of Epi2 that the Sith are now in control of everything, and ready to crush the galaxy and stick Imperial logos everywhere! WolfmanNCSU
Well, we do know for a fact that he recruited jango for the cloners. Jango told Obi that. Plus this was all part of the plan. He does not want the confederacy the think that he is just using them to set them up. So he acted like he had no idea that the republic had any army. Therefore he would be more support from the independant systems and increase there army. Remember he and the emperor at the end of the movie said all things are going just as planned. Starting the war gave him more power, a huge army, and started the desintigration of the jedi council.

BlackDove
I pity the foo's that didn't read the script before post production NOTE: It is obvious that Palpatine is behind this. Using his Sith name, Darth Sidious (“Sido-Dyas”), and claiming that he is the head of the Jedi Council (which he is not), he will be able to manipulate this war from yet another side. Why he is doing this will be explained as the story progresses… It was Sido-Dyas before post production, however they probably changed it to Sifa-Dyas so it could be another thing that would drive people crazy and add another mistery
obi
But there really was a Jedi named Sifo Dias. "He was killed about 10 years ago."

Shadow Angel
When the Kamino guy said "Sifo-Dyas," I'm sure he mis-pronounced the word Sidious. Then, Obi-Wan confused the name with a "Sifo-Dyas" who coincidentally happened to be a real Jedi Master. And yes, the original name was "Sido-Dyas," but I guess it would be to obvious or something. Or, I could have the whole thing wrong. But, the real "Sifo-Dyas" did NOT order any clones. It was either Sidious or Tyranus, but I'm leaning towrads Sidious. Darth Talliusc
sidious had sifo dyas killed, it had to be a high ranking jedi for the cloners to go along with it without wondering. i assume they picked sifo dyas simply because hes easier to kill then mace windu or yoda.
