Precisely.

Have you ever noticed how much of the story is shown from their point of view? It has to be about them :D

Well, I actually think the whole saga is about the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.

But, if you think of MOST IMPORTANT character, it's Darth Sidious, because he started the whole "Star Wars," he's pretty much the most influential person in Anakin's life ('sides maybe Luke, but that was only at the end of ROTJ) he's the most powerful (at least politically, if not via the Force), every single movie up until the end of ROTJ has been for the benefit of Sidious, and you can trace everything back to him.

Anyone agree with me here?

it's Anakin, gorge lucas said so himself "The whole star wars series is based around anakin skywalker, Yes with the 3 episodes that are out now, you get to see him in this Black suit, evil and twisted. but now im going back and going to tell how he bacame that evil twisted guy in a black suit."

It's all about palpatine/sidious. The phantom menace is named after him. and this whole disaster was started by him, he's behind everything and it all ends with his death.

Of course in a way both A New Hope and Return of the Jedi are named after Luke.

It is about Anakin. Think about it. The prophecy foretells his arrival. It is he who restores balance to the force( tossing Dath Sidiuos into the Bottomless Pit).

Think about Yoda and Obi Wan. They are jedi masters, the most powerful ever. Yet they cannot stop Anakin because the light side is so weak. However they know Luke is Anakin's son. Its no coincidence that Obi Wan is on Tatooine. Yoda and Ben encourage Luke to face his father not to become a Jedi but to restore Anakin to the Light Side as the Prophecy states. They are desperate. They hope that Anakin will not kill his son. That is why Obi Wan seeks out Vader and makes sure Luke sees Vader strike him down. Luke is just a pawn. He is a good natured kid without his father's issues. Return of the Jedi is the return of Anakin, not Luke. Luke is no more a Jedi than his sister. The story is about the nature of good and evil and how easy it is to travel the wrong path yet it is never too late to redeem yourself. It really is a well thought out story.

Luke is a Jedi, at the end of RotJ he has confronted his father making him, at least by the gereatest Jedi of all times reasoning, a jedi. I think Return of the Jedi refers to the return of the jedi as a group not the return of one specific person, Luke becomes a jedi and will presumably train more jedi restoring the jedi as a group to the galaxy if episode 7-9 were to be made.

ROTJ is another one of those GL titles which aren't totally clear as to what the "real" meaning is. It is never made clear if THE JEDI means the Jedi singular, i.e. Anakin, or the jedi plural, as in the Jedi order is returned, i.e. Luke is now the first of a new breed of Jedi.

With GL stating that the six part Star Wars saga is all about Anakin, it makes more sense to mean the it is the Jedi Anakin who has returned from the Dark Side. If it was meant to mean the Jedi as a group, then how come the last "real" Jedi Yoda dies in it? He is the last of the Jedi Council, Luke is never really trained to any real degree in comparison to those who were trained in Coruscant.

Obi-Wan ends his main role in the series from the middle of ANH, he maybe a key figure in Anakin's life, but in no way is he the main character.

But remember he fought a much slower weaker version of his father. ANakin as a padawan was probably more powerful than Darth Vader(at least fighting wise). So Luke would be lucky if he was even going to be considered a Padawan let alone the greatest Jedi of all time.

WELL IF GL SAYS ITS THAT WAY, THEN THIS DISCUSSION IS OVER.
