Darth Joka'ar
Err....I have never watch the Special Edition for the sequals. Can you guys here tell me any changes in Eps. IV,V,VI?
Kyle d'Tana
Well, the animations are better and sometimes complete new. They have changed a few things! But ahh, watch it and you will see! They're better than the first films!
Shadow Angel
These aren't everything, but still... A New Hope: Mos Eisley is re-digitized to look as big as Mos Espa in TPM and AOTC. The yellow blotch under Luke's speeder is fixed. Greedo shoots first, instead of Han, in the cantina scene. Added scene of Han meeting Jabba the Hutt and Boba Fett in front of the Falcon. Extra CG X-wing/TIE Fighter shots in the Death Star run. The Death Star explodes in a ball of fire and a shockwave, much better than the original explosion. The Empire Strikes Back: Added Wampa footage. Luke's snowspeeder cockpit isn't transparent anymore. Cloud City looks GREAT. It has very good CG shots of the Falcon landing, the dark red sky, this is definitely a plus for the Special Edition. Return of the Jedi: Added scene with Sy Snootles singning a duet with another band member in Jabba's Palace. Cool the first time, but it gets dumb afterwards. You can see the Sarlacc's mouth and tentacles much better. Death Star explosion improved. A diffeent ending scene is inserted. After Luke burns his father's corpse and the fireworks, it fades to people celebrating on Cloud City, then pans to Mos Eisley, with people dancing on the streets, then Imperial City on Coruscant at night, with more fireworks, more people cheering, a huge clock tower ringing, and you see some people knock down a huge statue of the Emperor. It's pretty cool. It could have been a bit better, though. And, of course, in all three films, the quality of the images look much better.

Darklighter
I saw all the SE films when they were released at the cinema in '97. It was amazing seeing the best 3 Star Wars films on the big screen (best at the time, obviously, I hadn't heard of TPM yet:) )
Divine Spirit
I only got to see ANH and ESB special editions at the cinema my parents didnt approve of going to the cinema 3 times in 3 weeks. Why did they have to release them so closely? Couldnt they have done it one per month? Im trying to find the SE trilogy to buy since my brother owns the original trilogy and he'll be moving out the house soon!

C Shutt
ESB is the only "Special Edition" that is still watchable. ANH and ROTJ are completely ruined. If you haven't seen them, then you're a lucky man.
Darth Knight
why have they not released them on dvd? is there a reason? i really want them on dvd

If you haven't seen them, then you're a lucky man. I actually know what you mean. In ANH and ROTJ loads of this were changed/altered/deleted that just hindered the whole experience to a minor extent though. In ESB though they only touched little parts up and added some cool effects, and that is all. All still good though:D
Darklighter
Originally posted by Darth Knight why have they not released them on dvd? is there a reason? i really want them on dvd It appears that Lucas wants to add lots of new things (gulp) to the original movies to make them complete, then release them on DVD. Don't ask me, thats just something I heard...
Hanch Saode
Some say that Padmé Amidala will somehow be in ROTJ....dunno how... And I think that they want to wait making them DVD, untill all the films are done, and have jad there premiere....so they will come out on DVD, in the right order...starting with TPM, and then AOTC, and so on....ending with ROTJ... Darth Joka'ar
2 more question 1st. Do the SW Special Edition have in VCD? 2nd. Do the word Special Edition pop-up in the opening where the title coming up?
Divine Spirit
Originally posted by Hanch Saode Some say that Padmé Amidala will somehow be in ROTJ....dunno how... if they did do that, God forbid, they would probably just stick her in as a ghost at the end of RotJ when Anakin, Obi-Wan and Yoda appeared to Luke. I think im right when i say that ghosts only appear when they have a reason for their spirits to remain in the living universe. Yoda and Obi-Wan aided Luke because they were needed to get Luke ready to fight Vader and Anakin needed to appear because........er.....Vader was needed in the storyline to eventually cause the death of the emporer and the fall of the Empire. so if Padmé appeared to Luke then it would completely disregard this rule because Padmé never directly helped Luke, unless you consider hiding him on Tatooine as helping him -which i suppose you could but that means ive just wasted the last 5 minutes of my life so i think its better if we dont consider it as helping Luke! I don't have any players for that type, but I've read that the picture and sound quality is improved. 2. No, that would suck if they did.
