Just wanted to mention that there is a new dedicated FFA server out there, based in southern california.

Here are the server details:

Wookiee Beer Parti! v1.04

64.81.37.213:28070

10 players max (with 2 private slots)

Every other map is a sabers-only map. We also switch it to CTF mode sometimes if we have enough players.

Saber damage -- x4

Ghoul2 collision -- On

Trace Saber First -- Off

Dismemberment -- On

All force powers at JK level

There are usually some pretty good battles going on, and the map rotation is a good variety. The minimum nuber of bots is 4, so there should always be at least 4 players online.

(Note: for dismemberment, you must set cg_dismember to 100 or 300 in your client console. )

May the force be with you.

I have played on this server and the saberdamage at 4 is really good. I liked it (even though I got waxed) And instantly added it to my favorites list.

Well, I havent really play on the server.. But I think the saber dmg is way too high!!.. 2 or 3 should be more than enough.. but 4!! jeez.. almost 1 or 2 hits and your dead =(

Saber Damage x4 actually plays really well. It turns the lightsabers into the deadly jedi weapons that they should be.

Anyone with a saber in hand can easily take around 3 hits before going down, while someone without a saber (unarmed or a gunner) is usually dead in 1-2 good hits.

It really places more emphasis on saber technique, and if you are a gunner it makes the jedi a little more intimidating (as they should be).

Exactly. But with that high damage, heavy stance becomes useless and light lethal. If blocking would be better, then it would be helluva cool fights....

IMO - Even with the increased saber damage, the light style leaves too many opportunties to get hit. If they are swinging their sabers around like mad, you can just run backwards and throw your saber at them.

Even though the damage is increased, each stance still has pros and cons.
