chrisakachris
Something is very screwy here. I'm quite sure I did not start Alien's thread.
chrisakachris
You know, I just saw this Stargate episode the other day, and there was something interesting there, so I sent the tape of it with my discovery to Alien. This is funny, yet disturbing.
Alien426
The day before yesterday I watched a (rather lame) Stargate SG-1 episode which was a rip-off of Armageddon. They planted a bomb on an asteroid. Eventually they had to defuse it. Yesterday I read Sluggy Freelance book 5 "Yippy Skippy, The Evil" which has a story (on page 105) where Riff has to defuse a fission reactor / nuclear bomb. Here's what's so interesting about those two events. Both Jack O'Neil and Riff are told to cut one red wire and instead both find 5 yellow ones. They have about 3 minutes left to do that. I did a little research and found out that Sluggy was published on 13th June 2000 and the Stargate SG-1 episode (season 5, episode 15, "Fail Safe") was first aired 04.05.02. Since the writer for Fail Safe was either Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie or Robert C. Cooper, but not Pete Abrams I was relieved (remember, bad episode!). Yet, I will keep an eye out for future references of the comics. 3 minutes display in SG-1 5 yellow wires Well, maybe I'm mistaken and both scenes are a tribute to a third story. Doubleplus GC
What's especially interesting here (aside from the fact that you get the thread in the appropriate order when you write a reply, !!intrigue!!) is that Riff calls the operator McGyver, who was played by Richard Dean Anderson, who post-McGyver became the main cahracter on StarGate SG1. Not that I watch that stupid show, of course, as it is (or, at least, was) on HBO.
