Duel of the Fates SP

Ok, here's the deal. I was wondering if there was anyone out there that can turn "LivingDeadJedi's Duel of the Fates " into a SP level. It doesn't work when you try to load it. I know that this would supply many hours of fun to lots of people. Espcially if you could get it to have obi wan and qui gon vs. Maul. please email me if you can do this. erikcheese5@hotmail.com:fett:

Thats awsome Merritt!! i hope that you do use LivingDeadJedi's map for it. personall i think that his is the best one out there. But i'm sure whatever you do it will be great. The waypoints idea is a cool idea too. I don't think that you should have too much trouble with the maping, because everything that you need is pretty much out there. It would be cool if you took the new "roger" model and used it to make some battle droids. You could just give them the characteristics of a stormtrooper. Also, i was wondering if you had any idea on when you think you'll be done with it.

It's possible to load MP maps into the SP game. I could tinker with a PK3 file do it but I don't know how to add characters. (I don't even know what's that called... Scripting? Is it a part of Mapping?) So, yea, you could load the level while yo have an Obi skin and spawn Quigon and Mau with NPC Spawn.

Don't even THINK about asking for a Dual-Bladed Saber though.

i have tried loading the map in single player. There's problems with it though, some of the textures don't work, and none of the charactures work either. I don't know what the problem is because i do it all the time with the "large sand arena" map. Lots of fun. But the "duel of the fates" on doesn't work. Also, if there is anyone out there that knows how to spawn MP charactures in a SP game, if thats even possible, i would like to know how to. I think that could be loads of fun. :bdroid2: Also i don't mind being a tester for the level either, if anyone has one they want tested.

for any who didn't know.. there is an issue with it loading in sp because of the shaders. you would not only need to modify the shaders/etc. to make it sp but you'd also have to modify the map file itself and it's effectively up to LivingDeadJedi on whom he gives that to (if anyone). You'd be better off making your own map of it and making it sp.

What exactly is so great about livingdeadjedi's dotf map?

The beams in the reactor room look simply horrible. I saw better ones for the original JK.

Now if there has been some update, and you're not talking about the ones that have the terrible pink beams, then I will retract this statement.

My point is, if beams like THIS http://www.solitaryecho.com/z-pics/nx4.JPG are possible, then why doesn't some one put them in a level that has the accurate catwalks and such with reflective floors and correct shaping of things.

A guy named Ortheza made a dotf level for JK, and it is by far the best one ever. I think it's called Naboo, and it can be found at the Massassi Temple http://www.massassi.net . If you want to see a true dotf level, check it out.

You have to search for it in the massassi forums..... its called "nubian ecstacy" or something..... I know that the author spelled the last part wrong, so just search the showcase for "nubian" and you can download it in one of the threads.

Its not all too accurate and alot of the parts are too small, but the beams look amazing.

MeLon, I hope you do realize that when viewing close up shots of the Light beams, they are actually purple cased in a blue-tinted casing. so the beams are accurate. but of course they won't look movie-like. Also, the reason why it won't work in SP is also because that is uses too many custom textures for SP to handle. SP was meant more for maps that use the game's textures, and not custom textures. (least thats from what I heard).
