Agen
Hmmm, i really can't suggest anything there's ways you can get some jk2 files noto your comptuer and make it look as if the cd was where a folder is so it reads it off your hard drive but i don't know how exactly i've forgotten, you do it through dos, os i don't think it's possible in xp or 2k. Generic drivers should work fine unless you have an extremely old or podunk drive. If it fails off and on you may need to replace it. You can get regular old CD Rom drives for cheap nowadays ($25-$50). What error messages are you getting from your games? Your device manager is supposed to show a CD Rom drive.. how is that "so stupid"?
Darth Groovy
in addition to getting a new rom drive you should really look into getting some additional memory. I went from 64MB to 512MB and I can't begin to tell you the differences it has made.
