Accually its not about the cpu... its about the chipset on your motherboard... Your cpu can be supper fast... but if your motherboard sucks... your game is going to suck... Read up on chipsets before you go out and by a new motherboard... find the one with the largest north bridge... The north bridge connects the cpu with everything less important other than your apg card and a few other things... south bridge connects to your pci cards and other things like usb ports... Darth Groovy
I better come back when there are more votes on here. Currently I have a celeron. Is it hard to switch to a different processor?
Absurd
Why didn't you list P4? http://www.outsideloop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=olcomp&Product_Code=CMB-P4OC&Category_Code=int-cmb
Jah Warrior
I'm running a Athlon 1.4 with supposedly god bits n bobs. That dude that mentioned overheating is dead right, AMD run way hot and often i get over heating problems, I spent a lot of time selecting the components for this sytem but alas it still crashes like a mad thing. the spec is as follows:- AMD T-bird 1.4 1 Gig DDR Crucial Ram ABit KG7 -via chipset Maxtor 7200 HDD Geforce4 Ti 4400 128 Soundblaster Audigy Chieftec case and powersupply (same as alienware) Next time i upgrade it will be to a p4 as there is nothing more annoying than constant rebooting and lockups.
