Absurd
It only takes one person to ruin the day - especially if that person has 'power'. People abuse power - it is in their nature. It always happens, it's just a matter of time and place - see parent raising a child, teacher educating a student, a priest and alter-boy. The question is do you remain a sheep and take it because you don't have the pride, ego, self-confidence, and security to leave a clan and stand-up to the idiots in power - or do you realize the truth about people and power and move on toward individuality? I know this is vague, but I'll bet you can apply this to any 'clan' situation you've been in. It never fails. Are you a sheep?

I posted a thread on that over at Star Wars stories and forums. Your Admin over there......remember? Ok first you don't update your page. I posted 1,000 like a week ago and you still got me as the caretaker. You don't post on the battle threads any more, and it was your idea to make it an RP thread. Your running the Academy! Or are you?!?! Now you are in charge of all these people and you joined someone else's clan? I vote for a vote of no confidence in Obi-Wan13's leadership. I might go join the Sith Academy after all. Maybe they could use an old fart like me. Fooey!
The Truthful Liar
or... Anyone in Europe could give AB a go and join us :D (yes... we are lacking European members [at least in comparison to the Amerikans] ) [Edit: Oh and Groovy, nice avatar - but chill out. And even if you are kidding, you should still chill. (I'm to sick to tell)]

SeraphimII
Lone wolf. It just everytime I join a clan they tend to be complete &^%$s, even when I get to know all the people in the clan. It happend in quake, quake tf, tribes, and tribes 2. I get to know the people and they all seem to like me, but then when I join I find they either get really pissy when I can't make it to a clan match, find their clan match tactics are lame, or just the always favorite one of the clan leaders seems to think I have an aditude because I know that trying to bypass 2 heavies spaming morters down a hall in light armor will leave you dead even with sheilds and leave you as a sitting duck to their morters as a heavy. So what do I do? I get medium armor with sheilds and whiteouts and blind the spaming llama claners take the 1st one out and the other get killed in the morter crossfire. Then I cowboy it and take out all the ff generators and cap the map. and what do I get? Probation because he thinks that we should always obey his order even though after 3 tries the other 6 heavies/lights barely got their foots inside then enemy base due to his orders. *Pant* *Pant* Heh. Tribes 2 roXx0rs. I hear theyre coming out with a patch to fix all the things they screwd up with.

It gets far worse when you are smarter than the leaders, and they realize it. At that point you might as well pack your bags and leave - because someone will act hostile toward you. Darth Groovy
Please don't label me as a NoOb, but I am releatively new to online gaming. I know what a Clan is, and I have been playing computer games for years, but could you elaborate on it a bit more. I mean would I benefit from joining a clan? Also do they play from a hosted server, or do they have they're own servers. I am really curious about this. Normally The only time I play online is when I play Outcast or Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds with my cousin via MSN Gaming Zone. I really hate the zone but my cousin lives about 2 and 1/2 hours away, and I don't know of any other way to play with him. Normally I play with bots, but I have much more fun playing FFA with friends than those damn bots. And some of those bots can really kick my ass too. Absurd
Basically I think clans cause the group mentality. People will defend each other even if they are in the wrong and protect leaders that don't deserve nearly as much power as they are bestowed. It causes 'group think' and the 'mob mentality'. That's a step backward in our social evolution.

Absurd
A greater group of people are becoming more 'connected and online'. It's actually forming a higher social inter-dependency than less of one. Video game clans are just one faction. There are chatlines, forums, etc.
