joesdomain
What kinds of ships would you like to see in the rebel airbase? I would like to see A-wings, X-wings, Y-wings, B-wings, V-wings, Rebel Medium Transport and Millenium Falcon for sure in an expansion pack or sequel. Crazy_dog no.3
OK I am just getting suspicios now. Have u actually played the game? Then u'll know that X-Wings are the fighters and Y-Wings are the bombers, plus A-Wings are there (with the XPack anyway), and I'll leave u guessing about what thiere transport is. Also the Millenium Falcon is a Heroe unit. If it was built at the airbase it won't be a heroe.
Kryllith
Besides that, if the Falcon was a buildable unit then it suggests that people would be flying a fleet of falcons (which is just silly, since there is only 1 Falcon). lukeiamyourdad
I haven't read a lot of EU stuff but i did but whats a V-wing?
Admiral Odin
Capital ships are not built on the ground, but in space. It would be silly to have huge ships built on the ground. (not to mention they don't enter the atmosphere) Have a Ship yard buildable only in space. Then add units like MC-80 MC-90 MC-80a MC-80b Corellian Gunship Corellina Corvette If you don't know what I refer to go here: http://www.theforce.net/swtc/mcc.html The V-wing: Premier dedicated atmospheric fighter of the New Republic. Though not a starfighter, she fills the gap of air supremacy. Fast and agile, but lightly armed and fragile she is nonetheless an effective fighter-killer
Kryllith
Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I would have considered the pre-stardestroyers we saw picking up troops at the end of Clones capital ships. They might have be floating off the ground (I don't know) but they were certainly within the atmosphere... Kryllith
Admiral Odin
Mon Cal Cruisers, SDs, SSDs, ect cannot enter the atmosphere. They carry ships to land troops on the ground. Corellian Corvettes, and smaller ships can. Those Pre SDs, or whatever they were Go to the Victory SD which is small enough to enter the atmosphere, but cannot land. lukeiamyourdad
I don't man, the republic ships we saw were pretty small to be considered hvy battleships.
Admiral Odin
Capital Ship is a broad term. For instance to the best of my knowledge, The Corellian Corvette is a capital ship. It is small so small it fits inside the primary docking bay of a ISD. Think of it like this. Capital Ships=Warships
lukeiamyourdad
Capital are warships but not all warships are capital ships. We usually call a capital ship a very large and powerful warship commanded by the admiral or commander of a fleet or simply a big warship. A correllian corvette is not a capital since it is too small.
Admiral Odin
Certain Games, like XWA call it a capital ship. Granted that I don't think it is a capital ship, some do consider it to be one. Since there is no official answer (at least I haven't found one) it is hard to say the actual definition. I never heard of ships Being called a Capital Ship only because it was commanded by an Admiral.
lukeiamyourdad
In X-Wing v.s. Tie fighter they call star destroyers and calamari cruisers capital ships and corvettes:freighters.
emimar
I have been a fan for a while, espeacily the expanded universe, but WHAT IS A V WING?
Kryllith
Gotta remember the variation between civs though. It quite possible that the pre-stardestroyers used by the Republic were the huge capital ships of that day, since things as big as the Star Destroyers and especially the Super Star Destroyers probably didn't exist. So put that into game terms and you're going to end up with quite a big difference in terms of size (and probably power) between capital ships... emimar
Okay, so I read up on the v wing when I got home yesterday, so I did't need your sarcastic reply. But maybe you should stick to well known fighters/airspeeders in future. Have you actually played the game anyway? The Y WING AND X WING ARE ALREADY ON IT!!! lukeiamyourdad
Krillith. I think the droid control ship was(I think) quite big maybe as big as a star destroyer. But then I'm not sure.
Kryllith
Not sure if it was or not, though it's possible. Even then, the center of the droid control ships could land (as seen in Episode II). Kryllith
lukeiamyourdad
If you look at the N-1 fighters when they attacked the DCS, they were pretty small.
