Release date set for The Legend of Zelda

Nintendo of Japan reveals official release date for Link's latest adventure.

Nintendo of Japan has updated its official site with a release date for the Japanese version of The Legend of Zelda, which is currently scheduled for December 13. The Legend of Zelda once again puts players in the role of Link, who's on a quest to rescue his kidnapped sister from the clutches of a giant bird . The game features a distinct cel-shaded look but retains most of the gameplay mechanics featured in the Nintendo 64 Zelda games.

The North American version of The Legend of Zelda is scheduled for release sometime in early 2003.

The game features a horrificly ugly cel-shaded look but retains most of the gameplay mechanics featured in the Nintendo 64 Zelda games.

I have no idea. Id rather if they had just stuck to their original idea on graphics where it was a more detailed and smoothed out version of the N64 games.

Don't get me wrong though. I love Zelda so thats why Im gonna but it, but all this news on it makes me wonder if it will live up to the Zelda series

Yeah i don't know about the cell shaded look either... it would be one thing if it was cell shaded but still had the same artisitc style but this is a whole new link concept. I liked the old 64 art. Thought they were really developing a good style. However, it is Zelda and I don't like to draw conclusion before trying anything out.
