Changing Music-- Heeeelllp!

I've been trying to change my duel music for the past 2 weeks and I can't figure out how to do it. It's still playing the normal track and I was wondering if anyone knew how to change it. I've downloaded the, "duel of the fates" sound track but I'm unsure on where I shall unpack it. I've put it everyone and the readme.txt is worthless because some knobhead that created it didn't know what he was talking about. Help anyone?

Zip up the mp3 of the "duel of the fates." Then, edit the name to music.mp3. Then, edit it to music.pk3. Pk3 files are just .zip files that the game can read. Put the music.pk3 into your Gamedata/Base folder. Then, in multiplayer, type in: "music x.mp3" without the quotes, where x is the original filename of the music. Hope this helps.:)

EDIT: You can also bind a key to a track by typing: "bind x music y.mp3" in the console without the quotes, where "x" is the key you wish to bind it to and "y" is the name of the track.

yeah i was wondering if someone could help a n00b. Pretty much same problem, but i want to put the duel of the fates remix into a pk3 and put it onto the main menu of multi player, or duel(theres already a normal DOTF for the main menu). Anyway, is there anyway to make it a pk3, make it so it automatically palys at these points and then make it so i can distibute it?

lol, Sorry buddy but I don't have a path like that. Not in my install or my gamedata folder. I never have. I've been told to even put all my models in my base folder in which, that has worked. SO- I'm clueless on this stuff and I'm starting to doubt it's possible...

Create a folder called "music" without the quotes inside the folder create another folder called "mp" without the quotes now have the music you want and rename it duel.mp3 put the music file in the "mp" folder zip the "music" file and convert to a pk3 file Put it in your base folder and it should work fine.

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry to further n00b up the convo, but this is related something I have been trying to do recently.

I LOVE the Ladder and Ladder2, but am trying to do an 'historical version'.

I wish to get tck MOD to work with SP, and then swap skins round (Desann to Vader), have fights like Yoda/Dooku/Obi/Anakin, have moments against stormies & reborns, multiple arenas and have more NPC teaming up, etc.

Basically, I am setting my sights too high, so I figure start by changing the music - I have duel of the fates, and tried to get it to run during the Ladder map, but it says that file is not a dynamically edited music sample, or something like that.

I removed the smack.mp3, and placed in DofF, named as smack.mp3 to avoid changing anything else, but nada!

What I do wrong?

D00D - I DID put it in a .pk3 file - I put it in the Ladder's .pk3 file, renaimg and replacing it for the ORIGINAL smack.mp3.

I am a n00b, but not THAT n00by!

After certain degree of faffing, I now have an MP Maul with dual red saber, and an Anakin with blue and green saber, w/ corresponding hilts, without harassing you modding vets - thats not bad for a n00b!

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to edit the JediPlus mod (v3.0 was the bet for saber colours, but 3.5/4.0 have the hilt and ual balding bot code)

If I could just get in there and hybrid it, then I would have a JP:Historical v1.0...

I don't think the JP team were too receptive to my ideas though...
