Tiduz
I've been trying to change my duel music for the past 2 weeks and I can't figure out how to do it. It's still playing the normal track and I was wondering if anyone knew how to change it. I've downloaded the, "duel of the fates" sound track but I'm unsure on where I shall unpack it. I've put it everyone and the readme.txt is worthless because some knobhead that created it didn't know what he was talking about. Help anyone? TheMadDoofer
Zip up the mp3 of the "duel of the fates." Then, edit the name to music.mp3. Then, edit it to music.pk3. Pk3 files are just .zip files that the game can read. Put the music.pk3 into your Gamedata/Base folder. Then, in multiplayer, type in: "music x.mp3" without the quotes, where x is the original filename of the music. Hope this helps. EDIT: You can also bind a key to a track by typing: "bind x music y.mp3" in the console without the quotes, where "x" is the key you wish to bind it to and "y" is the name of the track. Tiduz
So you mean take the duel.mp3 file from the zip and extract it to my base folder and rename it, "Musicy.mp3"?
TheMadDoofer
No, zip up the duel.mp3 and rename it music.pk3.
Tiduz
Okay, then put it in my /base folder. Got'cha... I just tried it and it didn't work. I'm talking about the duel music when I challenge someone... Do I still keep the name, "music.pk3"?
TheMadDoofer
Oh. . .you want it to play only during a challenge. I don't know how to do that. Sorry. But you can bind it to a key and do it when you duel, but it doesn't work on pure servers.
Tiduz
lol, That explains why it hasn't been working... It's fine, thanks anyway Doofer... -Tiduz P.S. Anyone got any ideas?
.Fallen_Angel
yeah i was wondering if someone could help a n00b. Pretty much same problem, but i want to put the duel of the fates remix into a pk3 and put it onto the main menu of multi player, or duel(theres already a normal DOTF for the main menu). Anyway, is there anyway to make it a pk3, make it so it automatically palys at these points and then make it so i can distibute it?
t3rr0r
make sure you have the path (/music/mp/) in there along with duel.mp3.
Tiduz
So you're saying, convert the duel of the fates song (duel.mp3), into, "duel.PK3", then go into my base/music/mp and place it there? That's it? That's how I change my duel soundtrack?
t3rr0r
well, you know how models are have a path like /models/players/blah/? you gotta put the duel.mp3 in a .pk3, but with /music/mp/ as it's path.
Tiduz
lol, Sorry buddy but I don't have a path like that. Not in my install or my gamedata folder. I never have. I've been told to even put all my models in my base folder in which, that has worked. SO- I'm clueless on this stuff and I'm starting to doubt it's possible... -Tiduz

nova_wolf
Sorry to further n00b up the convo, but this is related something I have been trying to do recently. I LOVE the Ladder and Ladder2, but am trying to do an 'historical version'. I wish to get tck MOD to work with SP, and then swap skins round (Desann to Vader), have fights like Yoda/Dooku/Obi/Anakin, have moments against stormies & reborns, multiple arenas and have more NPC teaming up, etc. Basically, I am setting my sights too high, so I figure start by changing the music - I have duel of the fates, and tried to get it to run during the Ladder map, but it says that file is not a dynamically edited music sample, or something like that. I removed the smack.mp3, and placed in DofF, named as smack.mp3 to avoid changing anything else, but nada! What I do wrong?

Samuel Dravis
you can just get my music changer mod at JK2files.com and it has a walkthrough for that
nova_wolf
D00D - I DID put it in a .pk3 file - I put it in the Ladder's .pk3 file, renaimg and replacing it for the ORIGINAL smack.mp3. I am a n00b, but not THAT n00by! After certain degree of faffing, I now have an MP Maul with dual red saber, and an Anakin with blue and green saber, w/ corresponding hilts, without harassing you modding vets - thats not bad for a n00b! Unfortunately, I have no idea how to edit the JediPlus mod (v3.0 was the bet for saber colours, but 3.5/4.0 have the hilt and ual balding bot code) If I could just get in there and hybrid it, then I would have a JP:Historical v1.0... I don't think the JP team were too receptive to my ideas though...
