FatalStrike
Is an A+ certification worth getting if I am to pursue an IT type career path? I am currently a DBA and would like to if this could help me on my way to financial freedom (hehe). I need something that could pay off in the short-term so that I can get a decent job while I am in school. A buddy of mine told me that an A+ is a good way to pad my resume and help me look more serious to the job market, since I currently do not hold any of certification or degrees. Any advice is welcome. (Yes, I know winning the lottery is the best way to go, so think of something else)
Darth Groovy
I'm working on a webmaster's certificate myself. From what I know now in the IT field a BA in Computer Science is becoming industry standard. Certificates may land you in jobs here and there but when it comes to being layed off, you will loose to whoever has the BA in Information Technology or Computer Science. This is advice coming from teachers who work in the field.
