Why are all my models un-clipped?

MD3 files do not clip by themselves. Dont ask me why, I dont know. They just dont. So, as LDJ suggested, placec your own clip brushes. It is the only way I've heard of.

You've never heard of the technique of not using models? :D

Seriously though, LDJ and Shadriss are right. If there's another way to clip models, I don't know it. That's why I like prefabs better. You don't have to do the clipping for them.

Models do have their uses. However, I've seen some damn impressive prefabs that 3dsmax or Milkshape couldn't do.

Using ships as an example, with the prefab for the Outrider you can walk inside. With the model for the Millenium Falcon (which is not to scale, due to exporting constraints of the modeling program) you can't.

that walking inside could be done with models too. just make an opening and make another model inside. but there are some restrictions and problems with models which keeps me from crying out loud that it could be possible to build entire maps with only models and clip brushes.

the worst problem is lighting. then there is this annyoing restriction of 1024 units scale...

if anyone tries to use models in their maps for more than just decorative purposes then ask me. i have my experience with those...
