BCanr2d2
Daemon tools, from memory, have one piece of their functionality to allow "fake" CD-ROM's to be used. If you have the space you can use your hard drive as the CD-ROM, which obviously reads a lot faster than any CD-ROM....... Usually daemon is used in reference to internet servers, and generally connections for websites.....
Elijah
you can "mount" a CD image... it uses space on your HD but its alot faster than a CD-ROM.
BCanr2d2
Probably explains why it was making his CD-ROM play up a bit. I like the idea of mounting images this way, have used it before, but not for ages......
Elessar-Eärfalas
yah daemon tools is actually a really sweet program, but i guess i used it wrong and shut down my drives or somethin, lol aw well, its all good now...
ondrahosek
From time to time, if your drives just hide, you may also try tweaking the registry: [*]Press Start > Run [*]Type regedit and press enter. [*]Got to this key on the left side of the window: My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} [*]Delete the values LowerFilters and UpperFilters on the right. [*]Restart the PC. [*]Pray it will work. [*]Start explorer. [*]Check if it worked. [*]Thank/spank me. [/list=1] Easy enough, when you eliminate the last step.
