swelsh
I am experiencing the most trouble with a computer component ever. My GeForce 4 ti4200 128Mb just will not play 3D games. System = 1.5 Ghz 512Mb Windows Xp The last driver I installed was the detonator 40.72 (I think) and that made no difference and I have tried countless other drivers. I have heard solutions such as, add more memory cuz Xp uses a lot, (I did this hence the 512Mb), add a new power source cuz these cards suck up juice like jenna jameson, (added a 400W power source), and change the driver, but nothing at all has worked. Its also worth noting that my Directx works fine as proved by the 3D test and the Draw test. Any new help would be fantastic.
teleguy
What's the problem exactly? Do you get an error message e.g. "Could not load opengl subsystem" ?
Andy867
Actually Teleguy, according to his information, those drivers he got (the Detonator ones) would have already solved the OpenGL problem. So it couldn't be that. But yes Swelsh, what exactly is the problem that you are experiencing?
swelsh
games will load up to the point of the actual 3d in-game graphics and then just crash. Sorry about that
Andy867
Do you have any programs running in the background that are eating up resources. What are your video detail settings? Are they maxed out. What is the resolution setting?
Sith Maximus
If you were running an ATI video card before the Geforce odds are that you will need to reinstall windows to get it to run right. I have seen this problem more times than I can count and thi is the ultimate cure. One thing to do first is to install the card in another box to see if it is working correctly.
